Golddiggers | Pimping a Demo 5

Hell yeah, that’s right, we did it, we built it!

“What’s up, my name is Dominik and I’m the founder of HIFIVEGFX, and we create high-class custom decals for bikes. I created one-of-a-kind decals for this Specialized Demo 8 Carbon. And when I say unique, I mean it. I got a call from Bartosz Bugalski, who owns the Epicentrum store in Gdynia, who wanted his bike to stand out among the rest, and not just be another stock Demo 8. That’s where I came in, and together with my assistant Piotr Kobos (who helped me with the application of the decals on this build), we made it happen. I hear you wondering, why did you go for gold chrome? Well, here’s why.

To put it simply, I was inspired by rap and the rap scene, which has been a major part of my life for years. I wanted these decals to reflect the rap aesthetic, where gold chains and rims reign supreme, as well as black cars and black suits. I had never seen a bike like it, so I thought “Why not?” The gold chrome really accentuates the stealthy black of the Demo 8. The elegance of the raw carbon, broken up by gold, makes this bike unique and complete.

It’s amazing to create something that noone has done before, anywhere. I wanted to give you an inside look at the build, so make sure to check out the video above.

Who knows, maybe Specialized will make a Model S-Works, tricked out in gold chrome. That would be something.

So, what’s next for me? I’m currently looking at collaborations with a number of brands, to create not only decals for bikes, but also for cars or other different items, to make them stand out in a crazy and unique way.

I would like to thank my friend Maciej Sobol for the great photos he made during the build (which you can see below), Jakub Szydlowski from MinusOneStudia for his patience and tough work creating the video (it’s dope, right?), Filip Remianow for creating a beautiful piece out of a few loose clips as well as everyone else who was involved with the creation of this movie! Most of all, I would like to thank my parents for supporting me through some tough times. It’s thanks to them that I keep building! High five to them!

I’m out, peace!”
