dude the 62 HTA is very stabile the big speed....remember..this bike is personal no factory with santa cruz or, specialized or another I phone bike :D :D this bike is 4th bike or 5th Pepps.. Pepps know wich remember is Personal setup.....

When you get on a HT, the front compresses, so the 62ha is only present when the bike is unweighted. When a rider sits on it it gets steeper, at ~0.5 angle gain/loss per 10mm stack height, that means if he's at 20% sag on the 150mm fork that the HA will be 63, it only gets steeper when compressing thru berms or heavy braking. There's no rear sus squish to offset the front steepening. Longer front ends also help with this, i forget the exact mechanism but it has to do with a longer lever arm from back wheel to fork. Meanwhile, with full squish, the compression of the rear suspension and fork offset eachother and the geo is more preserved when the bike is weighted than is a HT. Hence the trend for ultra aggressive HTA on modern shred worthy hardtails. If anything doesnt make sense its having a 78deg seat tube that will only steepen when you sit on it.

Thanks for that explanation. Still sounds slack AF however. like, ‘loss of front end grip unless the chainstays are mega-long‘ slack. By which time it’s bye bye manuals and switchbacks. Horses for courses I guess. One day I may understand

It is slack 62deg but like longanskis says by the time you have sag it’s sitting as 63deg match this with a 42 offset the steering is spot on. The chain stays are 450mm while that my sound long to you I’ve risen chainstays length from 450, 458 and 475.. personally 450 is spot on for me and can manual easily, once you found the sweet spot.

You are correct.
How ever the 78 deg seat tube is perfect for climbing, agreed that when the fork compresses the seat tube gets even more steeper, but really if your riding somewhere that the fork gonna compress that much your going to be standing up anyways

Please help me understand where in the heck this bike would make sense? With a HTA like that aren’t you destroying handling on all but the steepest trails ... by which time, aren’t you losing all sorts of traction without rear sus? Thanks

Head angle is 62 deg..
the rotors are trp 25s 200f 180r, but it’s a dam fast bike so might go bigger...
And yeah your right I meant 54t well spotted..
