So much chat about Dak, he’s 33, has had 5 podiums in his career (UCI DH) not exactly lighting the world on fire. Lets face it we love him because he’s an under dog and his comeback this year was awesome BUT, his injury was his own fault messing about on pit bikes at his home, if you are a big team and your rider injures themselves like that messing about on pit bikes you’d be asking questions. Before coming at me saying all DH racers ride moto in the off season yes I know but a pit bike is...

Is this the thread where we discuss costs for hosting a World cup? Some speculations from Kolb on the matter regarding Schladming.

Jake and Dan just pulled the Dave Portnoy/Barstool move: sell out to the corporate goons at peak value, watch them tank the brand to within an inch of its life, then step in at the last minute to buy it back at pennies on the dollar. Kent is stoked to be rid of the sinking ship, while Jake and Dan now have the profits from the original sale to reinvest into the brand. Perfect! IMO they should bring back the 2000's styling and model names. Not many brands have been around long enough to go 'retro', but Kona has. Bring...

33mtb Started a new thread Downhill World Champs Tickets

7/31/2023 1:24pm
Hi all Im planning a spontaneous trip to fort William for world champs this weekend but tickets are sold out. I’m wondering if it’s possible to “access” the venue without a ticket? I find it hard to imagine a whole mountain will be closed. Thanks!

Some great racing, Bernard looked to be in for the Win due to the rain but Mother Nature had other ideas. I'm glad the race wasn't decided by rain. Incredible round, just when you think someone pulls out a winning run (Troy) it gets pipped again and again. Coverage was pretty good, no complaints with the time zone here in Aus, I start watching the racing at 6.30pm, crush a bunch of beers and yell at the TV until about midnight then sleep like a brick.

drivel from me at work: Schwalbe "First Ride" is the company name for tires that unsponsored riders will never have. That Intense "cradle" is some kind of very nice casting. You can see the residue inside. Some of the finest are in SoCal from WW2 believe it or not. I am less impressed with 5 axis machining. They just cut windows, with no thought to radii or load direction. When I first saw their cranks I thought "somebody needs to pay for a FEA software add-on". I think so even more now. FEA on that thing would look like a...

CascadeComponents Liked a comment about Press Release Working Overtime! Cascade Components Launches Yeti SB140 Link

Welcome to the world of stitched parts. There's a balance between aesthetics and machine time that has to be struck so that you all don't have to pay more than you already do for the link. You tighten up those step overs and run time goes through the roof pretty quick. 0.005" step overs aren't free.
