The common thread in all of this is the name you keep dropping, and the one that has disappeared from our lexicon: WBD and UCI. WBD is a for profit organization, they're going to try to make profit from things they spend money on. Bushing require tight tolerances and proper maintenance. The cycling industry is crappy at tight tolerances. Most cyclist are crappy at maintenance. It's a win win resulting in the horrible reputation that bushings have. Like press fit bearings, they are the correct engineering solution. But that would require the bike industry to stop being crappy.

So a "buddy" of mine used to write reviews for MTB brands/apparel/components. He/they would not/hesitate/re-write negative reviews of things so as to help maintain the relationship they had with the companies they were dealing with. Sometimes, they just simply wouldnt publish a review for the product they were sent. Think back to the last time you read a overly negative review of a product. Fair, but on the other hand, how many runs were lost by less than a couple seconds that could have been made up if the bike had a lower center of gravity and less unsprung mass to get hung up on square edge hits.

With respect Phil has been struggling to be a regular top 30 finisher the last few years. And like Kade and Kaos his skills may be more valuable producing content rather than racing World cups. And that sucks cos those boys really lit up the vital raw , sleeper co. and Ben cathro videos over the world cup weekends. Sad to see the gifted steezy and technical riders are being forced out of the racing side of the sport now . I wanna see some rowdy shit being done on some wild lines not just a load of Frenchies deathgripping...

Being helped and treated right thru warranties is the way to earn my loyalty. The worst feeling in MTB is when your shit breaks. It makes it much more bearable when you know you can go home, send an email to get yourself sorted.

I have some industry intel and the IG comments might not be far off. This could be a very dark day for the sport, let's hope more info on the reason for the split gets public. Being silent here only gives the rumors more weight and space to grow.
