The first race of the World Cup Downhill season means plenty of new things to try. Rick Schubert looks scouts the tech in South Korea to find everything from Reece's crazy setup to anti-lock brakes to prototype goods. Go fast, takes chances (with your tech).

The stem heard 'round the world. Gamux going all in. Local race success has us wondering how it'll fair in the big leagues. Only out-of-the-box thing missing is a 32-inch wheel.

FOX on the grind.

ABS brakes on Giant Factory bikes? We're listening...

Commencal Muc-Off tidy as always.

Make your own "internal" routing. Loic's new Demo.

Hoping there's fluid in these. #SeaOtterPTSD

Troy Brosnan on the modern-day Oakley 3 bandwagon, too.

Trek Unbroken looking well assembled.

Orbea FMD weighing in on setup.

Continental Atherton looking for that belt-driven W.

RockShox staying busy.

Cozy. Cohesive.

"NEW DH" - hmmmmm.

Steering damping in Yeti pits. They also had prototype Shimano parts on board.

MS-Racing getting down with the trickness.

Quick scroll thoughts:
Verbal meme:
Painting of that dude standing up at community meeting: ABS doesn’t belong in DH.
I’m not one for a lot of rules, but ABS in downhill racing is bullsquirt.
If Richie Rude uses a steering damper I don’t even know if what im doing counts as riding a bike
I think it's 6 piston and two pads or 12 pistons and four pads
Cross drilled pistons too BTW. Very F1-esque
ABS is wild. Look like it only works with a 220 rotor? Makes sense why they aren’t running Ice Tech then.
Ochain XX chainring... this?
https://shop.sram.com/collections/ochain/products/xx-eagle-transmission…
The one on the Trek looks more filled in around the Ochain to me, but could very well just be the angle.
I think it's due to the standalone picture, that's the 32 tooth. The others are thicker / more filled in (I've got a 34 & 36).
Makes sense! Looks sick
Somebody in the comments on the other site said Dak was confirmed on a 32" front wheel for South Korea. Has anyone seen that? I haven't seen any evidence of Dak's bike with a 32" wheel anywhere.
queenstown npc probably posted something...
I think you’re missing the joke.
No one wants to gamble limited practice time on a 32” wheel.
Scott gambler mentioned = Dak 32” confirmed
Or it’s intentional and they really have one
ahhhhhhhhh I did miss the joke
lawlor just now confirmed dak is NOT on a 32" wheel.
lawlor just sent this over. kolb's V10 29-inch wheel dropout on his XL.
The V10 XL is 29" stock. Are you sure this isn't converting it to a 27.5"? The axle position suggests it's raising the rear end up to compensate for the smaller wheel.
I'm pretty sure you're right. The axle position on Kolb's bike is clearly lower than the original, which would correspond to a 27.5 rear.
