Interesting one from Moir's quali vlog. Of the four local Aussie Wildcard riders invited, only the fastest of the 4 gets to race. So by my crappy math, that means even if they seeded in 1st-4th only one of them would still get to race. Not very Grassroots, but hey.

I also noticed that Gracey did not do the final jump in seeding, we know she's got the course on lock, and probably made a smart choice due to wind or whatever. But it kind makes a joke of the "must do all features to quali for finals" rule. The other girls should maybe ask to race and just avoid the final jump if needed? Seems to be the better way to help the girls progress? Just my 2 cent though

All the wildcards found out before seeding that they were in the finals

You have to complete a full run to make it into seeding and then just start qualies to go into finals. Brooke dnf’d seeding but is still in finals

That's good to hear. Some good riding from them all so far this week judging by social media clips

I don't think either Gracey or Lou hit the final jump in seeding, but I'm not sure what the issue is. If you have to hit all the features to qualify and both Lou and Gracey were able to do that, what's the problem?

I don't think there has ever been a woman who's been invited to Hardline that's complained about not having easier options or different qualifying standards. I don't think anyone else's opinion matters.

The women didn't hit the final jump due to the headwind. Some of the men weren't clearing it, so it wasn't worth the risk.

I know you must complete all features to proceed to seeding. My point I poorly articulated though, was that seen as people didn't hit the last jump in seeding. It should probably be feasible for those who haven't completed the whole course to tell organisers they'll opt out of feature X or Y in seeding. And use race morning practice to try and tick it off.

As an extra avenue for progression, especially for the fledgling women's category.

Although I imagine with wind and weather constraints and TV schedule. Red Bull want all riders able to ride the full course at very short notice come race day. Understandable

Sorry, a start list for finals. Who's down the hill first and at what time, who's second etc.

luke meier-smith pov with quali crash - if he's healthy, he's a sleeper pick for sure.

the speed they're carrying with the forest so close is mental. totally different "gnar" factor than the UK with consequences and reaction times. so glad he threaded the needle of those trees! wishing everyone a safe race today.

Cool.  The women race with the men.  Good idea!

Looks like Luke Meir Smith had a get-off.  Def. would have been top 10 qualifier if not for that.  Full 20 sec. off the bike.

AM rain in Maydena.  Clearing off with a chance of rain rest of day.  I'll bet Ronan is loving that!

I’ve heard a 2 hour delay but don’t quote me on that. Riders were still hanging at the bottom in the rain 1.5 hours before start

I’ve got no issues with them delaying for the riders safety and for the best race possible I just wish there was a little actual communication to people across the world that are trying to tune in.

IMG 1698Yup, RB dropping the ball which is unusual. Riders aren’t sure what is going on either. Track looks like peanut butter

Definitely wish there was more communication, but with the sheer size of some of the features I’m glad they’re being super cautious.

Surprised they didn't go live and just go around chatting and do some interviews?

Rain has cleared up, think they're just assessing the track, it's only a bit of wind currently.

Knowing the hill, from wombat gap down it would be properly slick and very dangerous. The lower jumps wouldn't be possible.

Once the rain has time to soak a bit it rides fine, but initially you get slick clay on rock hard clay and it's just death.

It’s actually wild that they didn’t start the stream and tell us this and then show us qualifying. No problem with the decision but a pretty big letdown the way it’s been handled.

Red Bull looking like shit on this one. Of course, safety of the riders first. But if there was a chance of cancellation they should have taped seeding and at least played that.

Whatevs, tuned in the Glendale Supercross
