I quit several times, but started again. My biggest achievement for the last weeks is to smoke only two cigarettes a day. I don't know if I ever give up smoking.
That wouldn't be smart in my case. I have diabetes type two, need to buy victoza online once in six months, have to follow a very strict food diet and do exercises regularly. How irrationally would be doing all that and kill myself on the other side by ruining my lungs? If you decide to keep a healthy path in your life, you must follow it to the very end. That's my humble opinion here.
Smoke ? On occasion but it ruins your lungs as I much prefer edibles for a casual ride .
Process of giving up terrible stuff as you age
I switched from cigarettes to an electronic device. Now I can't stand even the smell of cigarettes. I guess this is the beginning of the process
From my experience, the MTB scene is more about the ride, the outdoors, and just having a good time without the drama. Most MTB'ers I've met are pretty chill and health-conscious, so smoking isn’t really something you see often on the trails. If you're trying to stay healthy and focused on your riding, it makes sense to steer clear of stuff that could hold you back.
Speaking of staying healthy, I used to smoke but switched to vaping a while back, and it’s been a game-changer for me. Vaping is generally considered safer than smoking because it eliminates a lot of the harmful chemicals found in cigarettes. It also helped me quit regular smoking completely, which has been a big plus for my endurance and overall fitness. I know it's a bit different from what you're talking about with the BMX culture, but if you or someone you know is looking to quit smoking for good and improve their riding performance, making the switch to a vape like Nexus Smoke could be worth considering.
Were you lucky to quit smoking after switching to vaping? I still can't decide whether to switch or not.
Well, I still vape. But I won't return to cigarettes for sure, can't stand the smell. I took a cigarette about a month ago and it was terrible. I just felt sick. I guess I'll quit vaping when I'm ready. I looked through the PuffCo reviews and noticed many people succeeded in this. You know, it's all in our heads.
Well no. Not tobacco. But happy 420 my friends! Sitting next to more than a pound of homegrown, a couple of nice blocks of homemade bubble hash and my homemade three foot stainless steel bong. Cruisin' right along...
I quit vaping last year. Vaped for 10 years. What I used to stop was nicotine pouches. Then I just got sick of those. They started making me feel queasy. Reading about it, the sweetener ace-K can make you nauseous. So I stopped using them.
I don’t and will once in a while when I retire. I see very few cig smokers at the downhill parts but plenty of weed
I’ll add , I see some weed being smoked in the parking lots of bmx races. Probably more weed than cigs
Smoke the weeds for rides and snowboarding. That’s about it, get a good sativa or hybrid and cruise
That’s such a wild detail — an ashtray machined into a stem sounds like peak early-era MTB chaos. 😂 I’ve heard a few old-school engineers did quirky one-off mods like that, but I’ve never actually seen a photo. If anyone has a pic or knows where that interview was, I’d love to check it out too.
