Like to see Cam on a bigger frame, he really does need it, I did the same on some XT cranks while back never been on Shimano again, burred the spline, both arms @ 6oclock after a small gee out on a 6" bike never done that on another brand!

Judging by that track, I'm guessing his cranks got raped by rocks and/or roots. That g-out was likely just the icing on the cake. Whatever the case - SKETCH!!!

I've always wondered about those tiny little splines on those cranks. It's also possible thought that the thermal press fit of the axle and the drive side crank is what spun. I'm sure that the Shimano engineers are already on it

Have you guys seriously never done or seen that happen to a pair of shimano cranks? I just did that to a pair of XTs like a week ago..........and saw a buddy do that to a pair of saints eons ago when that system first came out. Torqued "to spec" doesn't cover it sometimes with those little double pinch bolts.

I'm not saying any of you are fat, but I've been running the same set of XT cranks for about 4-5yrs. They're currently on their 3rd bike. I weigh in at 150lbs soaking-wet.

Just an armchair engineer talking here, the small splines look weak but there are so many of them that they spread the shear load over more of them. Maybe?
