Man, if they brought back the Porcs I'd rock them just for retro cred. I used to love those tires.

Bob, welcome back! -Nobody uses toe clips anymore. -Flats means grippy flat pedals. -Trials riders can bunnyhop up a loading dock on flats, it's all how you manipulate the bike. -It's all a matter of what you're comfortable with. In super techy downhills, ... more »
In 5 years, it will be affordable. In 10 years, every bike sold in a bike shop will have it. A little competition from SRAM will help this along in a big way.

Makes sense, couple of beers, and a rowdy crowd, lot of people would do the same if you egged them on.
My neck hurts just watching it, poor bastard.

US Bobsleld team called: they want to take a run down the course to get a feel for the next Olympic games with extra global warming in mind. #gettingtubedattheseadonkey
Agreed, Rampage is due for a new site. If Berrecloth and McCaul like it, then I want to see it. But photographers could climb all over the old site, this looks treacherous for those without magic wheels and/or helicopter. Red Bull knows the money comes from the media, not rider stoke.
Then again, maybe the media will film the whole thing with quadcopters. It's a brave new world MFers.

not quite Apr 1st yet...
That problem is related to two bigger problems which are: 1) too many people, and 2) too many litigious people. Even if a great trail is built legally here, buzz gets around and every storm trooper with a Monster Energy tee shirt comes to ride it. Then a storm trooper comes a little short on a gap jump and everybody gets shut out while the attorneys wring the landowner for every dime on their liability policy.

Only problem with California is that about 98.6% of the great trails are illegal ones. (See: Santa Cruz)
Even here in California, where we can ride outdoors year round, I wish we had a Ray's. Rode MKE once and been dreaming of it since.

I thought of the exact same thing, NORBA Nationals. That was the year I showed up without any accommodations, thinking I could crash with Joey. He was like, "yeah, sorry dude, I'm getting laid tonight." So I slept in the back of his truck in the condo parking lot like a hobo. Also, I thought I could just show up and compete in trials, and NORBA was like, "yeah, sorry dude, registration closed like a month ago". Oh, and JJ Gregorovich was there, and I was like, "hey, JJ, what's up man!" and he was like, "yeah, sorry dude, don't talk to me."
All in all, that was an awesome trip.
