Gwin never broke contract. He signed a letter of intent, and decided to go elsewhere. HUGE difference.

not sure why anyone thinks Sam would ever leave CRC. he has finally come back into his own and is comfortable on the bike. He just got Jacy there with him, he gets along with Nigel Paige, he's not going anywhere. They don't want him to, and will surely pony up the dollars to keep him there, if that was even an issue to begin with. CRC arguably has the deepest pockets of any team on the circuit.

I agree I can't see Hill leaving CRC. At this point in his career when he has rediscovered his form, it seems crazy to switch teams and put it all at risk.

I'm sure that one of the Specialized guys will go (having to run both Rockshox and Fox can't have been easy for prep/tuning/development), but who will go? Personally I think Gwin will stay, and Troy will go to Sram/TLD (his current sponsors anyway). That leaves Mulally taking Troys place for an all USA setup at Spesh.

Looks like Giant are having a shake up - but they will need a big name to sell the newly developed Glory. Maybe Blenki will go there along with a European rider such as Beer.

So where does that leave Hart...to Intense maybe, along with a young US rider like Luca Shaw?

Other wild guesses...Cam Cole to Norco and Fearon to Scott.

It was just mentioned that Intense wants an all out assault on the WC circuit via hiring some top 5 talent. Intense is starting to make things interesting. They got the bikes, the mad man to push the team, perhaps a carbon m9 in the near future?? If they want American talent there is only Gwin and Kintner. Less they want to build american talent and start with a strong team with Troy or Hill.

I'll say it again, Hill is not leaving CRC. he's not 20 years old anymore, a decision to leave CRC this page in his career would be foolish. They've got the money, he's getting on with the bike extremely well, Nige and him have great chemistry, he's not going to fuck that up. Why the hell would he want to get used to a new bike and team this late in the game?

because his contract will allow it? and late in what game? its end of season and end of contract. Contract implies mutual agreement, so if he leaves when out of contract, how he is being offensive to anyone but you and others who irrelevantly think its 'late in the game'. Hill is ultra prime property now: if CRC can't pony up to that new value, then why should he stay other than by personal choice. He doesn't owe them jack: what faith they've shown in him he has paid for in results, results and loads of excitement. He has also helped develop an extremely promising rider in Mike Jones who looks every bit as good as Troy a year or two back.
So, top step Brand recognition + future proofing. You still think Hill hasn't done them a world of good,and made good on all this apparent faith shown in him?
End of contract = Hill to make a choice. End of one story, start of another.

It appears you are missing his point entirely. In fact, I'm not sure how you read his post and then give that response, unless you didn't actually read his post.

Csermonet makes a good point with Hill. Can't see him leaving either and CRC can definitely pony up the cash to keep him on board. And it's more than just getting used to a new team and bike at this point in his career, it's that his current combination is working so what could motivate him to jump ship?

Can't really see Troy leaving Specialized either. I don't think I would bet the future of Specialized's team on Gwin and a new addition, even if that addition was Mulally, if I were the manager. That said I wouldn't mind seeing Mulally on with the big red S next season. Plus I can't really think of a reason that would motivate Troy to leave. He had a great season and Specialized wants to have the talent to promote that new Demo frame, and Troy has been doing a better job of that than Gwin. The only long shot reason that could possibly factor into Troy leaving Specialized is the remote possibility that he could feel overshadowed by Gwin, at which point Mulally would be the obvious best choice for replacement.

And didn't Shaw just sign his contract this year? Was it only a 1 year contract?

I can't see Gwin leaving Specialized having not achieved any significant victories (by his standards I mean - I know a World Cup win isn't to be taken lightly). Also they have just launched the new bike and he must have had input into it's development. He must be on a good salary at Specialized so what would be his motivation to leave, especially now that he has the equipment and setup to dominate the sport again.

With Troys 3rd Place at the worlds and world cup win this year he will be hot property. If there will be a TLD/Sram team, what bikes will they use - TLD already work with Specialized on various projects so maybe they will run the Specialized Demo like a satellite team? Troy will be right at home :-)

Well Gwin wouldn't be leaving regardless as his contract with Specialized isn't up this year. And yeah, that's a good point to make that it's not a stretch by any means for SRAM/TLD to operate like a satellite team for Specialized. Would allow Troy to shine on his own while still promoting the new Demo. That scenario could make sense for everyone.

"Downhill racing for 2015 has been cancelled. After giving and interview, Gee Atherton helped the sport officially jump the shark when he voiced his interest in have DH racing be a part of the Winter Olympics. At the time, Atherton claims he was being sarcastic in his usual British manner, but the French, or perhaps more likely German, interviewer didn't get the joke and published the death-blow article. With the schedule now a little bit more opened up, most racers will now be flooding into the EWS, with a handful making the literal leap into the world of Freeriding. Brendawg was quoted saying, "...[it is] too bad really, I was looking forward to managing the Scott team next year like Claudio had threatened, but now I guess it's time to toss on the flats again and go do some whips while literally jumping sharks...there's an event down in the Caribbean coming up, but I've said too much."
We here at Team Rumors are very disappointed to see Downhill go away, but hopefully with so much renewed interested in pedaling bikes, we can finally find a solution to chain-driven bikes. UP NEXT: Which riders abandoned their contracts in favor of becoming multi-sport athletes for 2015?!"

Well, he's right in saying that Dh would seem most fitting in winter olympics than summer.
It would also be fitting at x games
