Seems like there might be something new from GT in the works based off Wyn’s story from today
Gotta think it's the new Sanction. The current (idk if you can even get one still...?) Is still the old single pivot I-Drive design. They're due for an updated smashing/true enduro machine similar to the Force and Fury. Hopefully it's a high pivot 160+ smasher. Martin would destroy on that bike.

From what I’ve heard thru the rumor mill is that there won’t be a sanction but the force is moving away from all mountain/trail and firmly into enduro race bike territory.

MM posted a story on his instagram with him flying over a fire-road barrier on a grey, long and slack bike with a 38 on the front. By the look of it, the ST was short as well; then again, he has long legs.🤷🏿♂️
I'd hoped it would be the next Sanction...but, if a new Sanction does not come well..., then it is going to be a Nukeproof for me.

Oh interesting. So the Force is kinda stepping into the sanction role. Makes sense since the Force and Sensor weren't that different.
Definitely not a nukeproof, also definitely isn’t an alloy force 29... shape of the frame is a lot different. Clearly a new GT enduro bike, would be cool to see a 160, 140 and 120 bike in their line up (force, sensor, hellion?) to really widen the range
I wouldn't say Clearly because its not that clear. Definitely not saying it isn't a new GT as that would be rad. Nukeproof liked his video and GT didn't.

Helion was quite the little ripper. Wanted one then and I think I would want one now. AOS was so damn nice, it is too bad they stopped it after only 1 life-cycle.

Had an AOS sensor and it was sweet, that suspension design was awesome for the pedally technical stuff we have in New England. A modern hellion would be a sweet “downcountry” bike

Something like a norco optic AOS, or even a bit less suspenssion travel.
Or go back even more in GT land and bring back an updated Distortion, that bike was the bee's knee's. Downcountry before they even knew it was possible.
Just in case people are wondering what all the rumors are about

My hunch is that it's a carbon version of their Force 29.

I think it’s been mentioned elsewhere that there might be a high pivot/idler involved to keep it competitive with the new Jekyll cannondale is gonna launch (since cdale and GT operate under the same roof)

It is gunna be a mini version of the fury. Top tube will look similar and have an idler pulley... I bet 🤔
Freeride/dh hybrid as suggested way back? It had water bottle bosses. They released the shore though. I wonder why they move away so quickly from their current design, which surely wasn't rushed together right? (It even has different carbon layup for different sizes).
The general consensus, not limited to Norco, is, that there are tons of frames out there that have been manufactured, but there aren't enough parts to put on those frames. Therefore no unveils of new bikes.

+1. Some brands have reduced model ranges to make up for this as well in order to prioritize parts to the 'best selling' models. I can't think of a specific mtb example, but a road one: Norco dropping the carbon complete cyclocross bikes (though frame still available) and only one aluminum complete probably in an effort to get 'gravel/cx' groupsets (i.e. GRX) on their gravel bikes.
I was thinking if this scenario could be the reason this bike hasn't been unveiled yet. And it makes sense. It's quite a bit more niche than some other bikes in the lineup and it makes sense to make components available for Optics and Sights as those are sold to a more general public.
It looks like this one is carbon, weren't the prototypes aluminium?
Missed this post, the aluminium bike was the Shore. This one is a different bike. Different suspension layout, different geometry, different intentions 😉
More teasers of WAO bike incoming

Yeah..maybe it isn't a new bike..or maybe it is. 🤷🏿♂️

The Aurum is definitely staying in the lineup, as you can see here: https://www.norco.com/bikes/2021/mountain/downhill/
