Do you mean instead of the hook like configuration connecting the swing arm to the "pull" link?

PARTNERSHIP WITH SHIMANO BRINGS RADON FACTORY TEAMS THE ELEMENTS OF SUCCESS

Shimano is proud to announce the addition of Radon Factory Downhill (DH) and Cross-country (XC) team riders to the roster of elite level athletes using its XTR Di2 and Saint mountain bike components.

Radon XC ́s team is managed by triple world champion Ralph Näf, and has an impressive lineup of riders with former double world champion Matthias Flückiger, 2013 XC junior world champion Alessandra Keller and 2014 XC Eliminator world champion Kathrin Stirnemann, who will all ride with full Shimano XTR Di2 components, wheels, pedals, PRO Tharsis cockpit and seatpost.

Meanwhile the Radon DH team, featuring 2014 women’s world champion and World Cup winner Manon Carpenter, will race with full Shimano Saint drive train and brakes aboard their Radon Swoop200 DH bikes.Carpenter joins Johannes Fischbach (five-time German four-cross champion, three-time German DH champion and current City DH World Tour champion), Raphaela Richter (U21 Enduro World Series champion), and French DH talent Faustin Figaret, along with team manager and former four-cross world champion Joost Wichman.

Radon is a German manufacturer of mountain bike and E-MTB frames, as well as trekking, cross, road and urban bikes and is supported additionally by Shimano’s German distributor Paul Lange & Co.

Radon team manager Joost Wichman: “We are super excited to step up our relationship with Shimano. We know from using their components on our bikes just how much easier it makes life for our mechanics and how much confidence it gives to the riders.”

Shimano sports marketing manager Rudy Bouwmeester: “Through the promising results Radon’s XC and DH riders achieved last year we’re very proud to be able to develop our relationship and support both teams with our XTR Di2 and Saint and components and the XC team with the PRO Tharsis XC finishing kit. We look forward to working with all Radon athletes and back room staff to continue developing world-class components.”

Enduro legend and Mégavalanche Champion looking forward to new projects.

(Zurich, Switzerland) - After a long and prominent mountain bike racing career in the disciplines of enduro and downhill, René Wildhaber will shift his focus to growing the sport he loves with new projects. His charismatic personality, experience within multiple disciplines, and abundant knowledge will make him a pivotal figurehead and ambassador for Trek in support of its trail and e-MTB segments.

Racing will continue to be an important component of René’s schedule, and he will participate in select enduro adventures and EWS stops throughout the year. In addition to these select competitive endeavors, René will advocate for the continued growth of the crucial e-MTB segment in Europe. René will also be involved in photo and video shoots for the Trek brand. His experience and longevity within the world of mountain biking has led to immense success over the years, and Trek is looking forward to the next evolution in René’s career.

“René Wildhaber has always been one step ahead of the mountain bike world,” said Trek Mountain Bike Marketing Manager Travis Ott. “He was enduro before enduro was the thing. He was pedaling big mountain adventures before that was the trend. He embraced electric mountain bikes as a viable option before it became the next big thing. In short, René is truly a champion and guiding force in mountain biking. I’m thrilled that Trek and René will continue to work together, and I can’t wait to see where he takes mountain biking next”.

René’s influence and mark on the sport of mountain biking, in terms of both culture and product development, will be seen for many years to come.

“In his time with Trek Factory Racing, René proved to be one of the most prolific riders we’ve had,” said Trek Sports Marketing Director Tim Vanderjeugd. “Few have pushed the boundaries of the sport more than René, so we're incredibly excited that he will continue to be an impactful voice for Trek and the sport as a whole.”

Look for René at rides and competitions in Europe, as well as events promoting the growth of the e-MTB segment.

When you say "suspension linkage" you're referring to something like DW-Link/VPP/Split Pivot/Giddy-Up/FSR/etc?
Or a new damper?

It says she is supported by Nukeproof and that she is supported by Maxxis Germany, while the NoTubes deal comes via the German importer or some other store/dealer. There is no obvious connection to the factory Nukeproof team.

Indeed, Team Chain Reaction Paypal, that ride Nukeproof frames, and Nukeproof the team/brand that last year had Jacob Dickson riding for them (which Sandra is joining) isn't the same thing.

Just like last year's Specialized Gravity Republic, that had Loic, Loris and Finn, and Specialized Racing that had Troy, although riding the same frames, weren't the same thing.

So Commencal Team rides IXS and Oakley this year... They already said goodbye to fox some weeks ago!

There's also going to be a new helmet debuted that IMO is pretty ground breaking in just about every aspect. Same as above, all I can say for now.

Is it just me or did they ditch the I-Drive thingy?
Looks like the BB is directly on the downtube.

And there's no link going from the top tube to the rear triangle/shock...

It actually does look like it... There was an article on Pinkbike stating that the linkage showed no difference to the riders with it being there or not. So they removed it.

The Athertons didn't design anything. Saying "a little longer here" and "a little slacker there" isn't designing, its feedback. They were payed to sell the bike and that's what they did... likely with the help of anglesets and suspension tech nobody here knows about (for example when the air 40's came out, most of the bigger names just ran coils in chassis labelled as air).
So id be willing to bet that the athertons hated the bike just as much as Wyn and Brook... just were more professional (robotic) in who they discussed it with.

They seemed to enjoy the prototype frames a lot more, until they broke them that is....

official PR about remy metailler and cube

Métailler signs two-year deal with CUBE

26-year-old French freerider Rémy Métailler moves to leading German bike manufacturer CUBE with immediate effect. Rémy lives in Whistler, BC, Canada.

CUBE announces its partnership with one of the freeride scene's best-known and most innovative riders ahead of the 2017 season. Both sides are delighted about the new collaboration. CUBE is particularly proud that one of the world's best freeriders has chosen the German bike manufacturer as his partner. "The deal with Rémy means we have an absolute world-class rider on our books. We are extremely proud to welcome Rémy Métailler to the CUBE fold. Despite only being 26 years of age, Rémy is already a big name on the freeride scene and brings a wealth of experience on board with him. We look forward to working together and are planning some intriguing projects involving Rémy," says Marko Haas, CUBE Marketing. "CUBE's focus is not solely on lab results. We also work particularly closely with athletes and obtain feedback direct from riders. This data goes straight into our development processes to ensure we get the best performance from every single bike." Rémy is excited about the partnership with CUBE: "The brand and I share the same interests and my move from Commencal to CUBE went really well. I am very optimistic about the future and moving to one of the bike industry's leading companies is added motivation for me."
Rémy believes that the best equipment produces the best performances. That's why one of his bikes of choice is the CUBE Two15 downhiller. With its perfect combination of agility and smooth ride, the Two15 makes child's play out of going super fast on everything from World Cup tracks to local downhill trails and freeride tracks. Rémy made the conscious decision to move to CUBE and is already looking forward to working together: "I feel a connection to the brand through my European roots. CUBE is a household name to me and the new Two15 is an awesome bike that has already shown its potential at the Downhill World Cup. The geometry matches my riding style perfectly. Having CUBE as my bike sponsor for 2017 will help me take my riding skills and my bike knowledge to the next level. I'm really excited about taking this next step."

Rémy is known among other things for the videos he shoots in his adopted home of Whistler. "Burns the Whistler Bike Park" takes bike park riding to the next level and is one of the scene's most-watched edits. Rémy once again proved he is a world-class talent with a 12th place at the 2016 Red Bull Rampage. He was the only rider to use clipless pedals and his fast run impressed the judges. Rémy has already set his personal targets for the next two years: "Over the next couple of years I plan to keep doing exactly what I have been doing for the last four years – producing web edits and content on the thing I love the most: mountain biking. I will also be involved in developing and testing new products. I am confident that CUBE and I will come up with some fantastic stuff together and I am excited to be riding CUBE bikes in the future."

Rémy is currently working on his comeback after a crash at the Taxco City Downhill in Mexico, which left him with a broken T6 vertebra. He is making excellent progress with his recovery thanks to intensive training in the gym and close work with his physiologist. So well, in fact, that Rémy feels stronger than ever.
