As well, Norco distributes Sram in Canada, so it doesn't make sense why they wouldn't have the newest parts aside from a lower budget and they'd come last for getting stuff.

If that was true they'd likely have a lot better results. While having a team racing WC may be good for exposure, it probably isn't as good as an investment as we seem to think. If I were a manufacturer, it would sadly be one of the last places my money would go, it's far more expensive than typical advertising...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Norco is a lower budget team, similar to that of DGR, so they probably get to scrounge together bits and pieces from old bikes to build current bikes until they get new stuff from sponsors. It's the sad but true reality of downhill racing

They seem to run on two to three-year production cycles. The first aurum lasted from 2012 to 2014 then the next iteration ran for 2015/2016 and now they're onto an updated carbon one that we'll see for 2017 and likely 2018. I think we'll likely see them riding their normal (ish) aurums as it's going to be another two years minimum before the next Aurum is released so they'll try to keep testing relatively low key right now. The WC circuit has too good of coverage to really keep testing quiet

This is seeming more and more like they're going to be running what LTP (live to play, norcos distributor) runs. They're off RF and now fox, and LTP distributes neither. I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop shimano (especially since LTP still has a bad taste in their mouth from them), formula and novatec. And instead move to sram...
