Yea minion 2.3 on a 30mm inside (not ibis they are the same rim as the specialized fatty) was completely unrideable for me in the front..That's why I know it wont work on a rim that's 5mm wider...it works well enough in the rear though but I usually run fast rolling rears without a lot tread though so I dont require allot of traction out back..kinda makes me wonder how people are raving about those ibis rims with minions mounted on them...I haven't raced for years but I would consider myself a fast expert/slow pro..if they still had semi pro...

While we are on the subject of wide rims... I would really like to see you guys do a front tire test with a 30mm internal rim..something like the specialized traverse fatty sl...I had/have been running an HR2 2.4 up front and it works great. After reading a review of the ibis rims with Minion DHF 2.3's I picked up a pair. After mounting them I was a little wary being that the casing was literally wider than the tread but I figured the unnamed reviewer on the unnamed website knew what they were doing. I would say that the market is moving towards a wider standard though. I don't even believe "super wide" to be best. I think a 27mm inside is about perfect. I do think a 21mm inside "enduro" set is going to be dismissed by allot of potential buyers on that merit alone. I think a 27mm inside front and a 25mm inside rear would be optimal. Ill be going back to my 30mm inside next week will be interested to see if it was as good as I remembered..

Really makes no sense to release a rim in 2014 thats 21mm inside..I had to run a 21 in the rear after running a 30 and it is definitely noticeable..it's managable in the rear but would not want to run such a narrow rim up front..

Was really hoping for some side shots of someone wearing the helmet without goggles. I love my original Super and was going to replace it with one of these so I could at least have the option to run the chinbar but Bell's side view shots make it look hideous..I know that shouldnt be my main concern but if you are going to go fast you should look fast..I'd like to see some more pics..it looks good from some angles and awful from others..

Seriously...early 2000's and the roster for the pro class at a norba national could be interchangeable with any world cup...my expert class was 60 guys deep..semi pro and jrx was stacked as well...It's really a shame that it's fallen so far from that.. A good national series would be: Mammoth Schwitzer Mnt, Id Deer Valley, Utah Snowmass, Co Snowshoe, WV Big pro purses, have a vet pro class and have a dual slalom

The NORBA series used to be as important as the World Cups. It's about time it came back to where it needs to be. With that said, neither the UCI and our current national cycling federation have really proven themselves of late. I hope all goes well for everybody, especially the riders.

I dusted off a '95 rockhopper equipped with a rockshox fork, canit brakes, 110mm stem and 540mm bars with barends and I can tell you it was scary...I dont know if it was the 20year old panracer smokes or the fact that you might as well have been lying down on your stomach while riding but I can tell you that it doesn't resemble anything you would consider a mnt bike...I almost wadded myself riding through a field with a slight slope..I started riding in 2000 so by then things were pretty well sorted but the early to mid 90's...
