I can answer #1. The attorneys don't want to hire someone to make new figures for every patent. They do a zillion patents every year so saving the time/money by reusing some figures is fairly beneficial. This particular bike in Fig. 1 is in quite a few patents. In the end, the USPTO doesn't give a shit about the images as long as they show the concept in a legible way.

The wireless Reverb is good because it has no hoses/cables going through the frame, so it's really clean and easy to mount. Electronic shifting is... Is it really needed? Especially given the price? There are sensors in the brake levers, calipers, and a pitch sensor that knows how much braking is applied and the pitch of the bike. This is an interesting situation, though, because Fox Originally released this in 2018 as patent 20180313423. They resubmitted this application without changing (as far as I can tell) any of the claims. BUT they did add paragraph 0067 in the 2020 patent...
