I laughed way too much at this. Loris is the man.

Vital! Another rad review! Love the thoroughness to these. Pumped that you chose to throw on the same tires this time around. I have a good feeling of how much work it takes to do these, but it would be rad to see these more often! I know it's probably unlikely to have an intermediate / novice rider have similar consistency in results, but would love to know what their times / thoughts on each bike. Also, wouldn't mind to see the next review be some aggressive, 110-130 (trail?) travel 29ers.

'Democrats, or Republicans' was not mentioned. I hope you do see the relevance of the cost of cycling goods to a cycling site though. News that will most likely affect everyone should just be seen as that, news, not bias. Plus, this article had good arguments for and against, which should be the standard of quality news. Better to be educated than insulated.

i understand all of what you're saying and agree with the changing landscape. since you're new here (at least based on your sign-up date), dig into our past reviews. there are times when, despite being wined and dined at camps, products don't come away with glowing endorsements. our staff is experienced and they review the product, not the free beer. saying X is awesome because they treated us to a nice room at a resort wouldn't do us (or any editorial outlet) any good long-term because you would all see through it instantly. then we'd have no credibility, which means...

Thanks for the props! We ensured that we had ridden the trail a ton prior to the race. Each bike saw multiple laps down the trail, and the filming process was a GREAT way to get very familiar with the trail which lessened variability in line choice, etc. We also both did two warm up laps the day of the race so we weren't dropping in blind to the day's dirt conditions on our first test bikes.

I would love to see, as a control, what the effect of learning a trail better is. I think having the first bike be the slowest indicates that a bit more familiarity, is a hell of a lot more speed (home field advantage for the enduro races...). That being said, this is easily the best bike review / comparo I've seen, and I love that BT / SW can articulate what they feel / what changes they make / it's actually in line with how the bike looks on anti-squat / pedaling / braking / progressivity. Rad rad review guys!

I agree with E.T. i'm pretty sure the force required to break a florescent bulb is MUCH less than the force to break a carbon tube. even if you put the tape on the tube, you never meet the threshold where the carbon fiber would break. maybe for florescent bulbs...
