dizzmcfuck, you're worthless. You can't root for anyone else? So sad out of all the rad results, from Remi's 2nd place, to Neko's great start to the season and one of my favorite's, crazy Mike Jone's top 10, you've got to focus on a negative, and wish ill upon a rider's luck tomorrow? You've either never raced, or just been one to have excuses when you do. It is cool that Gee puts himself out there and says he tries 100%. He messes up a lot, and sometimes has rad runs. He's not one of my favorite riders to watch...

Of all the bikes in this feature, I've got to say I'm surprised that fewer bikes are carbon than I though would be. I guess geometry > grams for some.

Bturman is correct. I did have a Nomad that I bought, and rode for months. I sold it because I preferred something else. The ability to give high praise for a bike that wasn't exactly what I wanted should reinforce the idea of unbiased reviews. Star rating aside, there are certainly some pronounced negatives about the bike in the words written above. Just like the good rating for the Canfield despite its faults, the Nomad gets a good rating based on how it will work for many people, not all.

"the ideal rear suspension feel was never achieved" I think that's why it wasn't rated that highly. Pretty important for a full suspension bike. The welds and chain slap were just a tiny part of the review. The suspension was the main part. On a full suspension bike, if the rear suspension isn't able to work really well, on a variety of terrain, on a $6000 bike, then it is not good. Seems pretty simple to me.

Yet again people are taking the mountain biking out of slalom. I hope it is not all smooth as glass. Rotorua has incredible dirt and grass. Missing out on a few of those corners would be a travesty.

Mo(n)arch's assumption of Vital's inability to pick a size is quite strong. One thing that happens is that Vital talks with the companies, and THEY help choose the sizing for the test riders. The reach number arguments below are also easy to read too much into on this bike, as it is supposed to have skewed measurements because of the forward geometry. The sizing is just fine for some other bikes, as there were no size gripes on the medium tested two years ago, under riders who usually ride medium bikes. There are lots of comments about the prices of bikes being too high. I'd like to point out a few things to be considered. For one, bike prices are what they are. High or low is only a relative gauge. That being said, Vital tried to get prices lower this year. It won't happen overnight, but there is some trickle down, and in any industry, the cool new things will always cost the most.
