my favorite brands are: 1 Ancillotti; 2 Evil; 3 Santa Cruz For Ancillotti i just love Tomaso’s bikes. Evil I like their bikes too. Santa fascinate me for the polish but aggressive product design. Out of big brands I never used Giant, so I cannot speak, and I like Specialized for their product effectiveness and simplicity, Cube for their prices.

I think there is a big difference between my three favourite bike brands and three bike brands I would sell in my (hypothetical) shop. If I could have a crazy, boutique, high end shop that only catered to custom builds and it didn't matter whether or not I was making money, I'd sell RAAW, Frameworks and Atherton. I'd be niche, but it'd be cool. Edit Do mtb shops like this exist? I know roadies have super boutique shops (there is one about 3 minutes from my house that regularly sells $15-20k+ Colnago complete bikes, but mainly focuses on custom, high...

I think the big difference is that Isle of Man and all other motorsport have a history already written in blood. We're concerned because we don't want freeride MTB to become like them. We want to improve safety so we don't just accept that people will die chasing first place, its not a value the sport aspires too. Formula 1 in really until post Senna, it was very very common to have fatalities. Those people are totally willing to risk death for first, I don't think we are there yet, and that's good.

I have to say I completely agree with what’s already been said here. This type of mudguard solution is not new, other brands have been doing it for years. Personally, I run an EXT Vaia fork and bought this version of their fender: https://visionvelo.eu/product/ext-vaia-racing-mudguard/ In my experience the quality isn’t great, the hose clamp actually broke after just two days of bike park riding and for the price it’s honestly pretty crazy for what’s essentially a mudguard. But regardless of the quality, the point is that this exact concept already exists on the market, so trying to claim novelty here...

Darren, I feel like you probably already know this, or at least you should already know it, but this is a ridiculous claim and isn’t a defensible patent based on prior art. There are multiple previously existing fenders for inverted forks have attached the fender to the stanchion guards. Off the top of my head: 1.The Manitou Dorado has had fender a fender that is integrated into the stanchion guards since at least 2019. 2. The EXT Vaia Has a similar type of fender that attaches to the stanchion guards. 3. There are a multitude of motorcycle forks the have...

Good points! The more pivots/joints you add to a bike, the less stiff it becomes. For example, a hardtail will always be stiffer and lighter than a short link 4 bar bike. Adding pivots reduces structural efficiency, meaning you have to add more material (and weight) to maintain stiffness. More pivots = less stiffness and more weight. But suspension is pretty cool to have... so the key is finding the right balance with as few pivots as possible to make the bike perform well. Did that answer your question?

Stunning. I've always loved Ancillotti bikes since first seeing them in Italy way back. So good.

I know you are getting some hate with the downvotes however, some people need to take a serious look at what companies/LBS are offering - Personally 1 outta 3 local shops is damn good, if you buy a bike off them They will ensure to always make right and those instances jump you infront of the casual 'service que' - it's just a shame they only really sell scott but after some discussion they are looking to sell trek. Some brands like Canyon have their service centre's For e.g Australia is Aus & NZ, They are a phone call away...

Not into the politics of ebikes, but if I want to watch something with a motor go up a technical climb, I'll tune into Erzbergrodeo

And, last but not least, despite the bubble we are living in e-mtb are a pain in the a.. for any hiker/nature lover: they allowed a lot of unfit people to ride bikes in remote, severe environments. I honestly think they shall be banned from non dedicated trails and gravel roads to avoid a generalized MTB ban on the trials...

In the raw practice video from Round 1, they had EDR and EDR-E in the same video. Even before you could work out what bike they were on (E or not) you could tell because the way you have to ride the ebikes is so different. On the tighter, techer sections the non-E riders were taking way more interesting, creative lines that looked fun - and the style of riding I prefer to do myself - whereas on the eebs they were just lifeless and ploughing through stuff. It's just the nature of the beast - much heavier bikes, necessarily...

Is it just me or did anyone else think the OFFICIAL highlights vid from last weekend was really boring? Everything about it, boring and felt so corporate. It's mountain bike racing, it's loose AF, thats how the highlights should show it! Unfortunately, it did not.
