3/1/2025 6:58pm Yeah, I've heard the same thing about the larger battery. Personally, I wish I was in control more instead of the system reducing the power (only caveat would be that the motor isn't going to burn out). The odd thing on the Slash, is that if you look at the output window (motor and my output), as the motor gets warmer, it still states it's putting out close to 300 w, but I'm putting out less (when this happens, I know I'm pushing more as I'm still trying to keep up with my buddy). On the EXe, at least when...

3/1/2025 8:38am @Grimwood thanks for the comparison stats. I had read that the slash+ has different firmware for the HPR-50, differences are related to the high pivot & battery mgm't. Apparently the larger battery reduces stress (related to voltage?) on the system, which improves efficiency. Perhaps the increased range is from the lower threshold & improved efficiency.

3/1/2025 8:37am I experienced something similar with the EXe. Not sure if it was the firmware or the bigger battery, but the the math didn't really add up. I typically got 1000 m out of the EXe battery, and now much more on the Slash+ battery. For reference, the EXe would be close to zero after 1000 m and I'd end a 1400 m ride with the Slash at over 25%. However, I did notice that the power reduction due to heat occured later on the EXe than on the Slash+, so that may be a reason for the increased range on...

2/28/2025 1:46pm I'm astounded by the range / elevation you're experiencing with the TQ motor and battery system. The 580wh battery must really make all the difference. Also, if it's rated at 250w peak power, it's lower than the Fuel Ex-e which is 300w and might have something to do with comparable range. I'm about 6kgs heavier and my Fuel Ex-e range is very limited.

10/31/2024 9:21pm deviate ebike update from their newsletter ------------------- The Deviate E-Bike Update Now I am under strict instructions that I cannot give away too much! Anyone that knows me will know that I’ve always loved an ebike. I love an ebike as much as I love an uplift… and having spent 10 years guiding in the Alps - I really do love an uplift. I was once riding in the South of France and the Frenchman sitting next to me in the UPLIFT van commented on the ebikes PEDALLING uphill that we were overtaking, “lazy bastards” he said, “I hate ebikes”...

11/5/2019 12:31pm Interesting report. Although I do question some of the latest results as it would seem everyone wants to ride a Santa Cruz. What they'll actually buy is probably more mid market. As said, most bike brands would find this fascinating and pay reasonably for it and an analysis. Well done for completing it over time too with consistency to provide trend data.

TheReverend Added a comment about press release New Bikes from Banshee! Introducing the All-New Titan 29 and Rune V3
9/17/2019 3:33pm Does the same apply for HT's like the Paradox? That has no adjustability in the rear, and much shorter chainstays? I'm curious how they differ? The steeper STA and lack of sag must be a factor?

9/16/2019 2:11pm Glad you have seen beyond the marketing of short chainstays. It's all about balance... if you want a balanced bike with long reach, you need longer chainstays.

9/1/2019 5:44am Looks beautiful. I have the X2 factory on my 9.8 and it's excellent. Far better than the stock Re: Aktive. No loss of efficiency on climbing, it's actually better, and descending is so much improved.

7/18/2019 9:04pm Stunning looking bike but as stated I'd want the chainstays to be longer, especially in XL size. I'd love to ride one, as I'm hearing great things about the SI system. Kids will be eating toast for a few months though!

11/22/2018 12:05pm For me, the fact I have to go to work on Monday and I'm going to need my head means I love the added protection of the Fox Proframe. It's very comfortable minus the MIPS comments mentioned already. Its also lightweight and breathes well. Almost all of my friends now have them and none of us give a moment's consideration...

11/14/2018 7:54pm I put an X2 on my Trek Remedy and Banshee Prime. Both are significantly better as a result. I can't comment on the DPX2 but having had the choice both times I have no regrets buying the X2 on both occasions.

9/3/2018 1:33am I've the same size and colour way. Probably weighs a touch more but it's an exceptional bike. Way better than I'd expected in climbing and descending and that's with a 160mm fork. Nice bike mister!
