scriz Liked a comment about News Story The 5 Top Scoring Runs From Rampage 2015
10/20/2015 12:10pm Sorge's run was sick, but I think they scored him higher so that the same line wouldn't win two years in a row. Zink's line had more raw gnar than any top 5, and he tricked two massive hits. I was literally cringing watching his run. All I can think is that the judges couldn't see him very well. Semenuk is pretty much in a league of his own as far as style, flow, and dialed tricks. Massive flat drop flip in the gnar zone, nose bonk, and lily pad to oppo 3 were just wizardry. He made rampage look...

TBubier Added a comment about feature Opinion: When Does Risk Outweigh the Reward? How Red Bull Rampage Changed Our Perspective
10/20/2015 8:05am These were the best two posts I have seen on this topic so far. IMO accountability is the main issue here. It seems to me that in our fine country people are quick to place blame everywhere other than themselves for their own actions. I think there needs to be more focus on not only the riders accountability but also the people that were assisting them aka. their build teams. The builders helped design each riders line and at any point they probably could have taken a step back and spoken up and made it known that they didn't feel...

10/20/2015 7:57am I agree with Fireant. Yes, part of this blame lies with Red Bull. They're going to be the largest martyr. They're the main sponsor who likely kept this event alive. Another part of the blame has to go to the riders' sponsors. I'm certain they're pushing for their riders to enter the event for the exposure they gain. A huge part of the blame has to go with the riders. Yes, there's most certainly the glory for competing and possibly winning Rampage. But they have the choice to take it easy or go balls to the wall and really put...

10/20/2015 7:52am Seeing something like this happen to a rider is a tragedy.. no one ever wants to see their hero's or friends hurt especially doing something that they love. I don't think putting all the blame on red bull is right though, but having a media black out seems pretty ridiculous however and that should not be allowed, and, while I agree with some of what he wrote and respect Brandon for writing that article he freely signed the contract not to post pictures etc of crashes, if it was OK to sign before then why is it all of a...

10/20/2015 7:52am Will Olsen was killed in early August at the Crested Butte EWS. There was much sadness and compassion expressed throughout the MTB community, but not the outrage that is following Bas' injury. What's the difference? More money? Hardly. Lower risk? Hardly. The absence of a hi-def video of the incident? Perhaps.

10/20/2015 6:00am When bad things happen the first thing is to find someone or something to blame. Many fingers point at Redbull, after all they are organizing this gladiator show and they will keep doing it as long as its profitable and they are legally allowed to do so. I agree it sucks if the athletes feel exploited. The ones who feel this way the most are probably already doing something else, not competing or taking part in enduro etc. In the end of the day the competitors (who are the most aware of this exploitation) willingly take part year after year...

10/19/2015 9:20am Agreed with most written aside from the insurance bit. The Rampage falls under the FMB Tour, in which riders cannot compete without insurance. In no other sport, action or otherwise, is an event's title sponsor responsible for providing insurance to the competitors. That's not their responsibility and it never was. All they do is provide a venue at which these riders can compete if they want to. There's a lot of misplaced anger about that and if anything, be pissed at the rider's SPONSORS for the lack of travel cash or providing insurance/medical coverage. Also here's some perspective... The FWT...

"Brown Pow" = a shart. It's obviously brown, and POW! The next hour of your life just got dictated by this outwardly insignificant event. This is what happens when people who have made a career on overly dramatic, cheesy ski flicks, touch mountain biking. Hey, let's make biking like skiing, we understand that! Let's see a slow mo seggie of someone waxing the bottom of their bike now.

6/12/2015 8:46am Read the description on the Kickstarter. Not to be all Charlie Murphy but I'm not so sure about this EG: "'DH' mode if you want to use all your travel and have more 'pop'" - I don't know about you guys but I don't want my DH bike to often use all its travel nor do I want "pop". Considering how it works, I'd wager a number of pros would find their setup to be setup "poorly". The idea behind suspension is control and speed. Not merely feel. I like the idea but I believe you need to analyze more...

All killer, no filler. I'd like to see more of these types of videos with actual riding and no goggle shots, hero shots, putting on shoes shots, walking out of the garage shots, eyeing up line shots, sunrise shots, sunset shots, putting the bike in the truck shots, driving to the spot shots...

TBubier Started a new thread Pro Grt pool?
8/15/2014 12:11am I was wondering if it would be possible to bring back the the betting pool like we used to have on Litter. I thought that was a sweet idea and it would be cool to bring it back for the pro grt and the WC races. Just a thought.

Fairclough is the most overrated rider on the world cup circuit. Fact. The only reason he gets so much attention is cause he is entertaining to watch and he can be outspoken. Also, most racers on the circuit are not afraid to voice their opinion on tracks and I would go as far as saying most of them are pretty whiny. As far as this track goes, I think it looks amazeballs and I can not wait for this race cause its going to be Awesome Town USA.
