9/13/2023 2:09pm In the big picture of Warner Bros they could just shut GCN down without selling it and hardly even notice it’s such a small piece of their pie. They are taking bigger hits elsewhere in their portfolio through subscriber, box office flops, hollywood strikes, the list goes on.

1/8/2013 2:56pm The team has a history of helping riders win who had not previously won, including Aaron Gwin. Aside from have not signed a contract this statement seems a little specious at best. Aaron Gwin was winning the minute Yeti signed him and never looked back. True Trek World was a great sponsorm, but let's recognize that Gwin probably would have won the world cup on a Huffy. However, Specialized buys champions and Gwin has about 10 years to make as much loot as he can. So i am sure this is about paychecks. Gwin is in a great position.

1/8/2013 2:55pm Tweet from Gwinny: "Proud to announce that I will be riding for Specialized moving forward. There's much more to the story than what's been shared and i'm looking forward to setting that straight very soon. Thanks to my team and fans who've had my back in this time."

1/8/2013 2:53pm In my industry (telecommunications) LOI's, at the end of the day, really dont mean shit. Its exactly that - a LETTER OF INTENT. Intent to sign, but doesnt mean they will... Its not a contract. Comon Trek, give it up. All you're doing is succeeding in giving both yourselves AND Gwin a black eye.

1/8/2013 2:53pm What does Whiteley expect at this point? For Gwin to come running back with open arms? Obviously he was looking for a change of scenery because the money had to be pretty good at Trek. Even if legal action were to bring him back to TWR, there's no way he could perform at his best with that much tension surrounding the team. Trek had their run, now its Speshis turn. Maybe he'll get them to finally lengthen that chainstay so Troy will stop washing out and breaking himself.

1/8/2013 2:52pm It's funny how up in arms people are about this if you take a step back and look at the bigger picture and how much this impacts any of our lives. Racing bikes are these athletes jobs/careers/income/whathaveyou and a business just like any other. Pursuing an opportunity to make more money (I'm only assuming. I know nothing of the contract details, nor do I feel the need to) when you can in a sport where your time at the top is uncertain and limited, seems logical. I wouldn't for one second think negatively of Aaron because of his decision. After...
