Wow, thanks for the trail beta! We actually rode on the South side, but we got suckered into the Voodoo Loop with it's intermediate rating. I guess we should have looked for more advanced stuff. Thanks again!

I haven't made it up to the Fruita area yet, but it's on my list! I'll keep Lunch Loops in mind. Thanks!

It says a lot about a trail when a ripping rider like Noah is landing flat, getting stuffed on takeoffs, and just generally looking chunky on the bike. I and others appreciate the effort the trailbuilders put into new trails around the Grand Valley, but it's incredibly disappointing to non-beginner riders when they keep turning out like this.

I'm talking about Pueblo Reservoir. It was nearby, and we were looking for some light techy riding. An intermediate rating seemed fair. Got stuck doing close to 20 miles of boring xc grind.

I rode 20 miles of "intermediate" trail like this last weekend in Southern CO. The first few miles were fun, but after a while I started to feel kinda silly twisting and turning every 5 seconds when there was 20 miles of open range in every direction. Give me a rock garden or some roots or ledges or something!

5/5/2013 9:13am Hmm... I'd say Remedy has better pedaling geometry- you are a little more stretched out and the seat is over the cranks a little more for better climbing position... I've ridden all 3- and if i could only have one it would be remedy. But- you've got the best idea- test them all.

Funny you say that, because at least two Trek guys told me, if I'm looking at the Remedy, I might as well get the Slash. They said the Slash actually pedals better, and is slightly more aggressive. I'm just going to have to demo all of them!

Funny, I've been considering getting a Slash, but the guys at the Trek store keep pushing me toward a Fuel. And they sent you guys a Fuel for the Test Sessions. It looks like it did the job well. I might be considering a Fuel now. The Slash did seem kind of heavy, and a bit more of a dh bike than I need. I bet Trek feels that the Fuel is under-rated, and from this review, it is!

Reviewed by Steve Wentz, Joe Schneider, and Brandon Turman // Photos by Shawn Spomer and Brandon Turman From its creation, the Fuel EX has been the "go-to trail bike" in Trek's lineup. They say it's for the rider that "can't decide between a rugged, capable long-travel trail bike or a nimble, lively XC bike." That's a big slot to fill, especially for a bike with just 130mm of travel and a 68-degree head angle. Curious if it really could meet the needs of both ends of the spectrum, we had the boys from Wisconsin send out a recently updated Fuel...

Lotta filler in that video. Woulda been better if it was cut down to 10 seconds.

Funny... I expected the bigger wheels to do section 1 better, and the small wheels to do section 3 better. But it seems the results are the opposite.

I find the "minimal bob" and "supportive suspension" comments interesting because I test rode one of these at Outerbike last fall, and it was anything BUT firm! I took a lap around the venue at first, to test it out, and it was bobbing all over the place! So I took it back to the Intense tent and asked the guy to firm it up, and he said it was already set pretty firm, but he'd make a couple more adjustments. It was slightly better after that, but I really had to get into the rhythm of "bob and pedal."...
