Interesting, I guess they were testing it out in both forms. Here's Brendog and Gaetan both using an idler pulley.

1/11/2019 11:51am Wasn't the special thing about Athertons and Merida that they have established quite a tight link over the years? If so, I doubt the Athertons would just buy frames from Merida. That would make it more of a "let's sneak a Merida DH bike into the market labelled Atherton", so Merida wouldnt care that much about the numbers imo

It's super cheesy and that's the whole point! There's no way that he would win in the real race. It's clear that the equestrian is reigning in her horse when they are shown together. I voted good fun. Danny is of commercial value and is doing what professionals are meant to do. Which is making money. It's kinda in the very definition of professional. Though it's also clear that we would all rather see the next world wide smash hit hyper influential viral video.

There were other guys further down the standing who seemed to be riding much better this year on that bike. I think a number of other teams riders commented over the year how that bike just seemed to work.
