Been waiting years to see Transition’s proper take on an XC bike. Not disappointed. wouldn’t want it as my only bike for the trails I ride, but I’d love to have this in the garage!

Crazy to see how expensive these "one trick pony" parts are. $400 for the seat to go up and down, when you can get the cheap ones to do the same thing for 1/2 that. I am all for spending good money on parts that really make a difference, but having used multiple KS Levs, multiple Fox Transfers, Race Face, and a couple of others, my CHEAPEST post (close out PNW Rainier G2) with a Loam lever works every bit as well as my Factory Transfers did.

For centering just measure from the ends of the bar to the stem. And as for roll, I've never paid any attention to those little hash marks. It's all about the feel.

As both an old guy as well as a hardtail guy, I might be out of place in this discussion, but I happened to have a 27.5”, 35mm iw rim and a DT 350 hub sitting unloved in the garage. Laced it up and put it on the back of a Chromag Rootdown with 150mm Fox 36 and a 2.6” DHF on the front. In just a couple of rides, i’m pretty impressed. On one pedally 2 1/4 mile downhill with lots of corners, I beat my previous best time (2.5” DHF WT on the rear) by 32 seconds. Then...

Hate to say it, but the dmr vault reliability is very poor. The inboard seal isn’t effective leading to constant contamination issues. If you don’t stay on top of it the bushing that’s right next to that seal gets dirty and dry in pretty short order. You’ll end up with either with that horrid dry squeak or the bushing working its way out of the pedal body towards the crank arm. If you ride in the wet or in the dust I wouldn’t recommend these pedals. Not to mention you need a special tool to do the rebuild...

I’ve found 160mm rotors have too little stopping power in some situations. I can’t imagine trying to stop with 2.3mm rotors. Do you only ride in the flattest fields in the middle of Kansas on trails with zero turns?

Now sure would be a good time for e-dh-bikes. Transition seems like the right crew to come up with something amazing.

Big transition fans over here. Since we have multiple owners of Trans Am's in the office, will we ever see a return of the steel hard tail?? If not, no biggie... we'll just have to pick up one of the insancely cool 2020 sentinels. With love, The Handup Gloves team!
