i think they threw decent TRPs on there, but i could be wrong. cuz I thought that bike came with like basic Shimano MT2s or 4s maybe. seems rotors and pads were at least upgraded. ill give them credit cuz the fork and cranks work obviously, just looks funny visually lol

avin a cheeky giggle at the upgrades pathing... presumably still a 35 gold RL and the heavy SX cranks with boot covers lol. if it works it works!

Mobile cell towers would be appropriate for these kind of events, USAC should foot the bill.

Not to be a downer (and many are already aware), but a cat 1 30-39 category rider passed away as a result of injuries sustained during his race run. This caused a 2-hour delay on start times and quite a few riders DNS'd on their race runs out of respect/sorrow. We had already left since we weren't doing Downhill and needed to get home, but communicated (as well as you an communicate with people in the data vaccuum of Ride Rock Creek) with folks on the ground. Pretty sad and somber situation.

As electronic shifting becomes more ubiquitous, I'm curious what the VitalMTB community thinks of this technology. There are already a handful of threads around here with a debate between electric and mechanical shifting, so I'd rather ask in a specific thread. I'll hold my thoughts to later in this thread, but if anyone has any nuanced thoughts, I'd love to hear them.

New shock is almost entirely the same as a fox float. Both chambers can be tuned with volume reducers. How does it take customization out of riders hands? Charlie Murray is running the exact same shock from his StEvo with the exact same settings and just took 4th in his race on the sj15, so the bike vibes with non-genie shocks too. I hate proprietary components, but I’m curious what you’re talking about. Standard shock measurements, same fox internals as other shocks, and the bike works great with other shocks.
