I'm sure it does feel balanced, but I want a 27.5 front wheel, and a dual crown for bike parks/no creaking CSU.

A layer of brown first gave me a slightly darker tint I think it was just some auto zone wheel gold

If someone made a 35mm L x 40mm rise carbon bar with 8 deg backsweep id try it.... Otherwise bar and stem fit are the most important part of getting a bike to feel right for myself, so equipping these bikes with a fixed bar & stem is almost as bad as a fixed position built in seatpost IMO.

This is such a good question, and I would add to it: Does anyone actually think this looks better? Because the integrated stem LOOKS SO WEIRD to my eyes. It looks like the monster from The Goonies. [Edit: A friend pointed out to me that "The Goonies didn’t have a monster. It had Sloth, who was a normal person who was severely beaten when he was a child. It’s really sad actually." Agreed. You could say the real monster in the Goonies is inside of the people, and everyone has the choice to be brave or become a monster. I...

In Trek's case, my only guess would be that it minimizes SKUs on higher-end bikes by being their one-size-fits-all solution, and the markup on aftermarket is probably insane for them. I'll bet it's somehow cheaper for them to make a couple of different "unibars" in the long run versus making a variety of different length stems and bars for each spec level versus only making them for the cheap bikes.

Experienced riders end up with a cabinet of stems and bars. That's life, man. You try one thing and feel how it works on climbs/descents for you, and then you adjust. If your changes lightens the front end too much, either drop the rise/spacers or extend the stem. I might ride a frame that's too long for my height, but with long-ass arms, it works the way I have it set up. I have 30mm of spacers and high rise stem(DMR Defy 50) and 50mm rise bars on my L Ripmo. Sure I have to shift my weight forward if...

The taller the position on the bars, the more leverage you have on picking the front end up, as I find bikes getting longer with more wheelbase, the bars also need to come up in height for the bike to behave how I like it too.

Nothing new, just the same trails you've seen in videos for years, but we had never been to them and it was a blast. Cheers to Team Geronimo, Banshee Bikes, Hayes Components, and POC for the support. Hey Scott - I'm 30 years old and used to live in Utah, I've been to the old site and have walked around it. I have followed Rampage from the first year they did it when I was a senior in high school. I've been riding mountain bikes since 1996 and I'm not a hack... well I'm still a hack. I just don't want the wood features to become a slippery slope and are required to hit to win (regardless of what the judges say). Also I'd hate it if riders felt that they needed to hit any of them...

Having hiked the course last year, know that there is WAY more natural terrain to cover than the relatively little bit of wood you see here. Plus, the Icon Sender now sends riders 3 ways, rather than 2, which actually opens more options than last year. Personally I'm for it. The handful of wood additions allow the riders to focus more time on the rest of their lines. They only have 3 days to build this year with 3 helpers...
