Yup. Vital posts spoilers in their headlines. Pinkbike doesn't. Which means I'll visit Vital in the days leading up to an event (because Vital Raw vids are the tits), but once the event has happened, I stick to Pinkbike until I've learned the results on my own terms. Shrug. It's no skin off my back. Seems like a dumb strategy for Vital that they're irrationally defensive of, but whatever.

You can fiercely defend your position all you want. The reality is spoiling races is going to pull traffic away from your website. And posting an inflammatory defense of the strategy and telling us we're all babies for wanting to both enjoy the suspense of our favorite sporting event AND still get to visit one of our favorite websites just makes people want to visit even less. Having ridden 12 speed Gx for the past few months, I'd personally not be in any rush to upgrade if I was on 11-speed. It is a bit easier on really steep climbs in that lowest gear, admittedly. However the shifting is not as smooth and the rear derailleur cage has a design flaw that causes it to shit itself after a few months of use. 12 speed is for sales guys to push onto newbs just like plus tires.

11 speed has more than enough range as long as you're not going much slower than walking speed. 10 speed or less would be more practical for mtb to be able to get up and down through the gears faster. I'm usually shifting 2-4 gears at a time on 11 speed already.

So the takeaway? All brakes suck.
