2021 Transition Scout 4
Frame purchased from my LBS The SpokesMann, a Transition dealer. Slik Graphics did a nice job matching the color to make the logos look like clean outline.
(Almost) matching winter-time bottle
Right after it was built. It's a hair over 31 lbs now with a few different parts..
Found a stress fracture inside the stanchion tube upon disassembling the X2 after it blew up 6 months in. I made a polyurethane bushing, hoping to isolate the shock from the added stress Trunnion mount puts on it. The bushing still looks good after 7 months, and the shock is still going strong other than I needed to replace air can seals.
Call me a weirdo, but I really didn't like the feel of '21 36, sinking down too far before it settled for my liking (and yes, I tried changing pressure and compression settings). So I reduced the neg. chamber volume by using a drilled-out NA1 piston as a volume spacer, and swapped in a '18 NA2 top out bumper hat to maintain the proper seal location relative to the transfer slot..
A year and half later, scratched up but still looks ok from 15 feet away

My midlife-crisis bike. It's not as fast as 29ers but that's ok by me - I don't race, I don't Strava. The bike was built to suit my riding style (finding weird natural doubles and side hits, tech climbs, general trail tomfoolery) and reliability. Since I'm over half-century old and this little blue bike makes me feel like a young man, I named it "Viagra". Having fun on the bike to the best of my ability.
