i think there's a lot to suggest that strait's run deserved more points than it got. Strait vs. Andreu is up to discretion, but Strait's run was f*ckin burly.

have you ever seen a newspaper, magazine or tv newscast not report the winner of the super bowl or world series in a headline because they didn't want to spoil the results for someone who didn't see the game?

In terms of the mtb industry I'm no one aside from previous trail volunteer work at Highlands a couple seasons after they opened and for local races back in NH... and I love ripping in the desert and grew up watching the Rampage. I know exactly how to behave out there. However, I did venture out in 2012 around a week before the event and even though the guys there didn't know me, they didn't mind me walking around scoping things out because they must have noticed I wasn't some gaper and I never got in the way of anyone...

I'm not sure how you could say that its been "one trick rampage wins". You clearly did not pay attention to the contest the past 2 years. Re-watch Kurt Sorge from 2 years ago, he barely did any tricks. He threw a superman and a backflip down the bottom section, thats it. And Strait last year? His no hander off the big drop was the only trick he threw. Both of those guys won because they hit big lines and hit them smooth and clean. Nothing to do with tricks.

Because the riders don't have enough time to do it. It takes an insane amount of effort to build a line. Chill out, 3 features total on a massive face (it's big, trust me), is nothing. Also the riders will be building bigger/crazier features than that step-down... it's relatively average compared to what was built previously (it's that insane out there). I'm heading down there now to hopefully lend a helping hand. May take a few GoPro shots depending on how tightly controlled they want the content to be.

jeff.brines Liked a product review Tested: RockShox Vivid Air R2C Rear Shock

by Jeff Brines Earlier this year, an air shock equipped Commencal took the win at what some are calling the gnarliest track on the UCI World Cup circuit. Suffice it to say, downhill specific air shocks are here to stay. Additionally, Enduro racing is placing even more emphasis on shocks that strike a balance between light weight and descending prowess. With this in mind, we took a look at the new and improved 2014 RockShox Vivid Air R2C to see how it stacks up. RockShox Vivid Air R2C Highlights WEIGHT: 530g (for a 216x63mm without hardware) DAMPING: External beginning stroke...

I'm running the 30t in an XO1 system with an MRP skid on my LunchBox...not a single dropped chain yet. Also running the 30t with a bashgaurd and a clutch RD on my fatbike...not a single dropped chain there either. the narrow/wide with a clutch style RD is the way to go to eliminate dropped chains without an actual chain guide, IMO.

But minnar rode better than gee on the day. So it shouldn't have been geeman on the winners spot. That's racing. The winner wins.

"Super short" stays? pffft.... I ran into a Giant rep at the trailhead the other day...he had the Trance X 29er and was all smiles. I rode up annd started chatting him up...I remarked about the crazy 'perceived' seat tube angle and how it allowed Giant to tuck the rear wheel closer to the BB then he began on the stays - it's flickable! it's nimble! it's easier to pop the front end up! ... like 17.8" has never been achieved. That's when I turned my Lenz Lunchbox to the side and said "that's a 17.3 stay and he figured...
