You are correct. There is no bike company (that I have ever heard of) that has the ability to extrude their own tube sets. The ones who claim "custom-drawn" are real, they simply pay for tubes made to their specifications from whatever supplier they choose based on their criteria (ISO or otherwise). The same is true for all metals (Sandvik...

Yeah, same here. I'm just saying that this is taking the piss out of the customer...raw material prices because corona or not.

Thank you for the upcoming nightmares. I will say bolts loosening on ebikes is a pain, I need to toque check my rear end after every ride, between the pivot bolts and the rear axle you need to over torque everything to make through a big ride.

I'm going to say the bolts were loose and once 4 of them were out the 2 remaining tabs had o chance. Going by the way those CPS washers have been installed (under the mount instead of the calliper) I don't have a lot of faith that anything was mounted correctly

More than one shop has said "tried it, no real help"....could be due to the AXS system being so stiff???? First World issue

Serious question, while I agree that the AXS works perfectly -much- of the time. Did you not have the "wandering B screw" issue that seems to be prevalent? Then, more and more so as the factory thread locker loses its effectiveness? Myself, I ordered a "BetterBolt" and if need be I suppose I can use some LockTite RC to just make the damn thing never move again (note: typed moments after AGAIN resetting my B-Screw on XX1 AXS, for about the third time this month).

The few times I've tried listening I get exhausted after the third or fourth mention of "jiu-jitsu" or "technique".

I know this is a huge surprise to the Vital collective, but I have a pile of thoughts on this one Wink Fortunately, Robot and DCamp covered a lot of my sentiment. Its refreshing to see so much forethought around the idea of "sustainability". Few things to add... 1) There is a difference between sustainability and carbon footprint. Right now there is a lot of focus on one's carbon footprint, but this doesn't mean wasteful actions with respect to materials that might be more carbon neutral equals a total free lunch. I don't want to make this more complicated than...

"Regarding the questions in the third paragraph (I know it was general questins, but I figure it might spark additional debate tongue" See, that is the thing. Many folks claim "debate" when it is nothing more than conjecture based on potentially flawed hypothosis. From there, turns rapidly into virtue signaling and venomous judgment on this here Internet thing. We all...

"onstruction of more trails close to population centers" This would mean that there would need to be liability laws (in the US). Some states do have these in place (FL I know 100% does). Until such time that the lawyers are not out all day every day trying to find someone "at fault"...well, we get what we get. I agree...

I do my best in my life. I have faith in people to do the same. I still want to ride bikes, snowboard and go climbing. I want the same for my children, if they want to. But you have to try to do it in the best way you can.
