I just keep praying that ratio is going to come out with a cam or replacement part that allows the usage of an eagle shifter with c90. That won't likely happen, but won't stop me from trying to make it materialize with my mind juice.

I can chime in here on this one. I just took gx axs transmission off of my trail bike in favor of eagle 90. I retained the XS1275 cassette and the x01 chain that I was running previously and replaced the controller and derailleur for eagle 90 parts. FWIW, I am running a 53mm chainline crankset and chainring on this...

thanks for the nudge towards the wera zip ratchets. I'm gonna put those on my christmas list this year. Related to that, my wife bought me some of the park tool sliding T-handle wrenches last year for christmas. I am very meh on them overall, especially for the price. For me, I just keep using a set of stainless Wera...

Well the bad news is that I don't know what to tell you, and the good news is that I have nothing to prove, nor nothing to gain for convincing you. I have a lot of mountain bikes and so does my wife, 6 between us. Everyone of our bikes has sram brakes with metallic pads, 200mm hs2 rotors and...

I have fought off having superboost rear wheels in my fleet for many years. My wife fell in love with a pivot recently and got herself one. It has ruined the zen status of all wheels/hubs fitting all bikes in my garage. It is as bad, if not worse then the dystopian axle future I imagined that had me avoiding...

I like transition bikes... but there are more quality issues then I am tolerant of and I would be concerned about selling them online. If I were opening a shop: -I would want a high end, low return/warranty rate brand. That answer is easy, Santacruz... One could make an argument that Specialized may be a smarter choice in this segment...

I have an xl v6 nomad and I have spent a week on the v5 bronson and v4 hightower. Previously, I've owned many other SC bikes, v4 nomad, v1 megatower, v2 megatower... etc. For me, it would depend on the intended usage. I would still lean nomad if I were in your position, but mostly because I use my nomad...

Women's mountain biking is so lit right now. I hope the ladies are stoked with their riding and the show they put on because it was excellent. I was a little lost in the who is riding whose line storylines in the broadcast, which was a big story in this years event. Feels like the women got 10 years of...
Felt this was a fitting place to post my thoughts on running a Boxxer on a Spire. Spoiler Alert: Its the best setup I've run thus far. I genuinely don't understand why we don't see this more often, from ~160-170mm on up. Especially on e-bikes. I suppose price is part of it, but my real guess is what I'm going to call "mimesis"; we all broadly follow more than we lead. And breaking convention is hard.

The part about the calipers/pistons is correct. Maven bronze has the same caliper as silver/ult/expert and based is 2x18. This would be the first I'm hearing about maven bronze being discontinued, last I checked (2 days ago) you could still order up a set of bronze brakes, but maybe that's just existing stock. Fwiw, this move would make sense, the...

Thanks for the question. Long story short if the rim is unsafe to ride, it's immediately retired and the hub is re-laced to a new rim. I also have to consider the massive loss of time if I send my rider up on a rim I'm not 100% confident in. Not only do we lose a practice run, but it takes me 40-50 min for one wheel build(including taping and insert/tire mounting). I could easily be halfway through a fresh wheel build in the time it takes my rider to do one practice run so if I have any doubt...

I have, it was excellent but didn't last long at all... mostly because the HR3 is only available in maxx gripp. For now, I am using the conti krypto rear dh soft for any application where I want dhr2 braking performance and side knob bite, but more penetration through dust/loose conditions and better wear. It pains me to run different...

Fwiw, my nomad 6 will eat a push 11.6 spherical bearing in like 6 weeks. Since switching to the push cartridge bearing eyelet on that same shock, it has been problem free since.

One more thing to throw out in this discussion... is that with progressive coils, the spring length vs the stroke length of your shock starts to become something to look at. Meaning that if the progressive rate spring is the constant in this thought process, that a 57.5, 60, 65mm stroke shock are going to dip into that progressiveness at...
