Digit Bikes Added a reply to BB30 standard

That spline has a lineage which I feel makes it the defacto standard. I think it goes back at least as far as the Magic Motorcycles cranks, so it became the CODA standard; FSA made Cannondale's cranks, and it was adopted Sram, Raceface and others, including me (https://www.digitbikes.com/concentric-bb). Here are the bones of my model:

One thing worth noting imo is the straight seat tube that allows the biggie droppers. Nice looking rig!!

I'll be working on building a complete line of bikes. That will take some years, however. The next one will be a shorter travel 29er. FWIW, I've had people 6'4" tall ride Datum's through rock gardens and tell me how "it's so great that you made the bike a 29er it rolls so well over chunder" - only to learn that they have in fact been riding mixed wheels. That 6'4" fella ended up buying a Datum, though he didn't feel any advantage, he was also unable to feel a disadvantage. He prefers his Datum over his 29er.

I’ll be at Sea Otter in booth B99. I won’t be offering demos because 1) the riding there ain’t all that 2) supply is outweighing demand, if I had a demo fleet, there would be no bikes remaining for people to buy 3) I don’t think I have the bandwidth to talk the talk to the 75,000 attendees, let alone set people up on bikes.

This bike is sweet. I was apprehensive about the proprietary shock but not anymore. I'd love a shorter travel full 29er version. Maybe 120 rear with 130 or 140 front and similar geo to the Datum.

At 6'0", I can run a 240mm dropper. Though I've found it's overkill, it drops me into such a low squat that it's hard to get back up. I've settled on 210mm, people over 6'3" have liked 240mm

You gotta love it when a guy pours his heart/soul/time (and probably a hefty chunk of his savings) into a project like this. I love the clean and simple lines. Looks good. Hope it works out for him.

Do you currently ride walrusses, or are you a walrus? Also, I'm working on a shorter travel 29er, the story is here: digitbikes.com/ring and there's an email signup if you want to be kept informed of when they're coming.

Awesome bike, Tim! Great work. I appreciate and I am inspired by your overall engineering and out-of-the-box thinking. Hopefully this goes a long way! Need more of this stuff. Would love to give one a spin sometime! Irvine is just down the road from me.
