A lower seat doesn't mean more drop. If you have the seat up to where it should be for pedaling, and you drop it, the top of the seat is only going to move the amount of the seatpost travel. The only way a lower seat will matter is if you are going to slam the post to the collar and not have it come up to the correct height for proper leg extension.

Tough to watch. I still don't think the cameras manage to convey the true threat of these tracks. Maybe longer lenses from the opposite mountain would help (that's what they do on ski/snowboarding chutes). I feel like they are doing crazier and crazier things to look extreme on video, when the cameras instantly halve the angle, pushing riders further and further - that Danny Mac slab one was similarly tame-looking compared to the reality.

If you buy consumer direct, "...you're indirectly telling a bike shop to pound sand..." Well, by selling a low spec bike for $6,699 and the high spec bike for $13,099 (like the new Pivot Firebird) bike shop manufacturers are telling new, low income and young riders to pound sand. And any shop that won't work on a bike because "it's consumer direct" or "we don't carry that brand" deserve to go the way of the T-rex.

I think I people are walking the track before official practice maybe? Basically having a “pre-look” at the track the day before you can ride it. Pretty much the same as a DH weekend and he’s thinking it’s losing the “spirit of Enduro”.

The amount of leverage needed to compress the shock rises as it goes through the travel. aka: progressive. Falling rate is the opposite, leverage rate decreases. Falling is ideal only with an air shock, as it will create a "linear" rate with the natural progression of an air shock.
