Really well. I wanted a GT-R when I graduated college. Thought "one day maybe". This at least checks similar boxes in the performance category while still allowing me to pretend like I'm saving the planet. (that last part was a joke) There is a big part of me however that would go out and buy something like a 1998 E36 M3 or something if I could (and had a shop to store it in). Not a fast car, but a car that is "fun to drive". We are 100% going to lose the "driving experience" when everything goes to electric...

Unfortunately, it sure does. The closest trail network is 25 mins from where I live and it's 22$cdn/ride. The spot where I preferred riding is 80-90mins away and the same price to go riding. Last year I went twice a week sometimes, this year it will probably be once a month. 40$ gas + 22-25$ for a day ride has gotten too expensive for my income. I've been riding for 26 years and it's sad to realize that only the wealthiest will be able to afford to go riding while I won't.

Fall off the 51t? Fall off the chainring? Mine is fine with 8100 crank and XT bb with one spacer on driveside, but cassette is only 45t, hub is 350, ring is round 32t, and chainstay is 432mm for size M frame. 8120 is not the answer. Presumably you've tried winding out the low limit on derailleur. How's the crank/chainstay...
