Fresh from Lenzerheide and the Gamux pits. No more gripshift, now electronic trigger shifter. Can shift while coasting. More deets at Eurobike. photos by Jack Rice

I'll get there. I had a priority list of things to tackle once I changed teams and getting my suspension completely dialled was more important than Flight Attendant.

How much experience do you have with testing mass produced products that go on the market? I'm afraid you're vastly overestimating the amount of testing being done on products sold to consumers... BTW, the Tyee in aluminium has internal routing holes on the frame, so can be routed NOT through the headset. The Al is thus cheaper AND better.

Who's stoked for a 2:0X winning run? If Nationals had to be out east for the sake of variety, why wasn't it at least at Snowshoe. You know... the place that recently hosted World Cups?

Sad that our DH national championships are going to be held on a <700ft vertical track that isn't lift serviced and is a 2hr drive from a major airport. Nothing against Rock Creek, it's just sad state of affairs when none of the western ski resort/bike parks have interest or willingness to put on a national championship race. Blame is on USAC for not paying good venues to put on national champs.

No- i think the graph and video is showing that varying spoke tension does NOT (measurably) change the amount of wheel deflection given the same lateral or torsional load. The boxed in data points are not moving up/down on that chart (displacement on y axis) This would agree with treating a spoke as a preloaded bolt. Edit: I'd believe proper spoke tension can help durability but I'm guessing for us normal people no one could notice differences in spoke tension until it goes to 0.

I'd love to see a simple deflection test of the wheel. Rigidly mount the hub to something- apply a load sideways- measure deflection. Change spoke tension and repeat. I always thought spokes behaved like a preloaded bolt- same as milton mentioned.

Good points. On both my GX AXS derailleurs I've swapped the skinny red o-ring between the main derailleur body and the b-tension stop plate for one slightly thicker. It still bolts together the same, but it acts a little like a second clutch in the derailleur and doesn't let the main body flop around as much.

jesus wept, The amount of whinging from you lot on a forum specifically about tech rumours and innovation is astounding to me. Primoz, man, like I said, theres tonnes of brand new XX1 out in the world, go buy it so you no longer have to worry. I can only assume you have tried AXS on your mtb, strangely everyone Ive spoken to that owns it, absolutely loves it. Ive seen many online complaints, but I dont put too much stock into that, cause often its people weirdly expressing opinions about something they know very little about those of you...

Part of the embiggening of models has to be a better understanding of suspension kinematics and modern drivetrains that make big bikes more efficient. Sample size of one, but my current 170mm bike pedals at least as well as my previous 130mm bike.
