9/8/2024 2:00pm Mainly talking about where the gusset sections meet each other and the frame to make a sharp angle. That 4030 plate looks really cool!

9/7/2024 3:28pm if theres a way to do one smooth gusset, thats the move cause a lot of sharp corners are going to cause a lot of stress in a small area. Could also help if i could see the frame woithout the rear triangle on it and where specifically the cracks are helping.

4/17/2024 11:08am https://www.vitalmtb.com/community/hamncheez2003,27159/setup,44451 I few years ago I made a 150mm rear travel from a 63.5mm stroke shock, so roughly a 2.4 leverage ratio. I love it, but that specific frame had too many QC issues with the hydroformed downtube so I have two new prototypes with the same leverage ratio in my garage that I'm testing. I feel like low leverage ratios make it much easier to tune the shock, and despite being a flexy single pivot, the shocks I've put on these frames seem to last longer with potentially longer service intervals. The stress on the shock is simply less...

4/12/2024 2:29pm Mondraker Foxy uses a 205x65 for 150mm of travel. They use a very light compression and rebound tune. I know people who can help me either tune a shock off the shelf or buy it pre-tuned. I'm mostly modeling this frame to test FEA and different ideas that I've had for workflows. There's no guarantee that this or any bike...

4/11/2024 10:55am So with all that in mind, what sort of leverage would be best for a light weight rider? The one I've been working on has a leverage starting at 2.7 and ending at 2.1 . Not too far off from the bike I'm on now. I don't mind tuning shocks but it would be cool to just take a shock...

4/10/2024 9:03pm Started a model for a bike to make for myself. Mostly to try new design ideas and workflows so i can do a better job designing for others and not experiment on clients. This is the v1 of this bike, v2 is in the works with FEA being used during the design process instead of after. I want to try...

2/2/2024 2:43pm I would love to see a larger focus on domestic racing and get more involvement nationally as well as more American riders at the world cup. I think Aaron is in a great position for that, especially with his coaching sessions that he's been advertising. There's a lot soon to come from America and I am super excited to see...

1/22/2024 3:14pm the complex 6-bar suspension that norco is using allows for more fine tuning due to different bars of the suspension controlling specific kinematics. Neko was adamant about not using a suspension platform any more complex than a 4 bar to reduce production cost and manufacturing complexity. Building a bike is harder than it looks and Neko did it without the...

7/28/2023 7:05pm They’ve been reliable for me. I printed them out of PLA because of its high stiffness but I’m planning to make them out of carbon fiber nylon so they’re more stiff and more fatigue resistant. I’ve been testing these and some other printed parts for more than a year to ensure the quality and safety. if I ever sell them, they’ll likely be metal

7/28/2023 6:10am it’s called the struggler cause I based the suspension off a transmission smuggler and it was the first bike I ever welded so it was a really good challenge Magpeds don’t lock you in quite like any clip pedal would. It’s more like a flat pedal but the magnet helps put your foot in the same place every time. The magnets don’t hold your foot in as much when the trails get super chattery so it’s best to have a shoe that can interface with the surrounding platform like a fiveten
