On the DVO the settings are all over the place in that case. 96psi with more rebound than the guy running 70psi. Would have ridden like a pogo stick. The manual says closer to 8 clicks for that pressure. 96psi is also for a rider over 115lbs. Something must have been wrong with that one..

the only zeb i felt it was good had reworked airshaft, burnished bushing, custom tune in the damper, different oil, removed buttercups, so basically just the outside was stock.

Same. One of the worst forks I've owned was my Zeb Ultimate C3. It was sticky beyond belief and no matter how I adjusted it, it felt awful. Not even close to the Selva, Mezzer, RXF36 m.2, 38 GRIPX2, or EXT v2.1 IMO

All marketing hype. The changes they made did nothing to make it smoother, it's aimed at racers and pros who don't care about small bump compliance.. yet reviewers seem to claim the thing is like riding on clouds.

it's beyond me how the zeb can be the best one here, they always feel like moving a bike with the brakes on to me, regarless of the level ( ultimate, slect+ or select ). Usually is bad bushing/assembly of the fork. Shame there's no Intend in the test it would've been nice to see

I guess I am going to be that guy but the $550 (for now) Manitou Mezzer Pro is better than my Zeb or factory 36 ever was

How about serviceability of the fork? I’d choose longer service intervals or easier diy service compared to additional deal of the for any time

The ratings just don't compute. It's hard when the testers obviously have one of the big two on their own bikes and getting past that bias is difficult. The DIY and servicing at home is huge too, try and do work on Fox suspension yourself it's usually a nightmare requiring special tools.

Dennis mentioned DVO is more expensive than Fox and Zeb….But it’s in fact cheaper? Counting can be hard…. My Onyx 38 has been amazing (much better than my last Zeb Ultimate). I don’t listen to suspension reviews much anymore. Different testers and sites/magazines always seem to be all over the map (or are swayed by sponsorship dollars.). Just my humble opinion. Sad to see no Manitou either. Manitou and DVO are top my list lately.

Hand brakes. The sooner they learn to use them the better. No decent bike should have a coaster.
