Dennis mentioned DVO is more expensive than Fox and Zeb….But it’s in fact cheaper? Counting can be hard…. My Onyx 38 has been amazing (much better than my last Zeb Ultimate). I don’t listen to suspension reviews much anymore. Different testers and sites/magazines always seem to be all over the map (or are swayed by sponsorship dollars.). Just my humble opinion. Sad to see no Manitou either. Manitou and DVO are top my list lately.

That's one benefit of the new SDG Tellis V2. Zero side to side play even after months of riding.....The OneUp is still the most compact and is a bit lighter though!

Weird. Maybe you got a faulty cassette. My last 3 bikes got the TRS+ cassette paired with XT 11 speed shifter and medium cage derailleur with a KMC chain. Always perfect from the get go and shifted better than the 11-46 XT cassette every time...With the med cage derailleur I also get a shorter cage than Eagle for more clearance.

The single-ring mountain bike drivetrain revolution is in the history books by now, leaving us with greatly simplified bikes while retaining enough gear range to get up and down all but the steepest of hills with ease. E*thirteen joined that party just a few short years ago, but their innovative take on the cassette sees them at the top of the range game while retaining a lower profile and generally lower weight. How did they do this? By splitting the cassette in two parts and reducing the smallest cog to 9 teeth, they were able to achieve 511% of range...

I have the cassette on 3 different bikes and all shift perfectly! One is a year and a half old and is getting worn but still works. The vast majority of user reviews are very positive as well. The only ones I've seen not work are with people not using an 11 speed chain (or worn chains) and derailleur or hanger issues. It was easy to install and if you install properly (use the included spacer and grease the tabs before install) creaking is not an issue

Weight is the major one. the E13 cassette is 120g lighter. Also, the price isn't that far off a GX Eagle cassette and chain (GX Eagle cassette and chain is $249 and this kit is $299). Some people who have XX1 also aren't going to want to downgrade to GX....

covekid Added a reply to Transition Smuggler vs. YT Jeffsy

I rode a Jeffsy last year and loved it. Super fun in all terrain. Your comment about Eagle being better than the YT drivetrain isn’t accurate IMO. The 9-46 11 speed cassette YT uses with Shimano parts has more range than Eagle and is way lighter. If you use a 30T ring with the 46 rear cog it’s just as...

Good review, but I have the same cranks and I'm pretty sure you don't need a 16mm allen wrench to install. The 16mm wrench is needed to remove/change the spindle, but the cranks come with the spindle installed (or at least mine did) so you just need an 8mm wrench to get them on (as outlined in the instructions you posted).
