I'm also 6'2" on a Spire with Large front triangle, XL chainstay (452mm). I thought I had a pretty good balance with it, but nowhere close to 1.7! 1.86. Also anecdotal, but adding the 6mm from the Large CS to the XL was a major noticeable improvement for all the reasons stated above. I can ride more neutral from the middle of the bike and it's much more intuitive and safer feeling and makes it so I feel more confident cornering aggressively because I trust the front wheel. I also have an XL Spur (1.88 ratio) and have a blast...

So I just picked up a xl transition spire, with a ratio of 1.9 or so. It corners great, and I couldn’t quite figure out why until I thought about skiing- having that longer reach and fairly long rear end gave me a larger sweet spot to maneuver around in. On flat corners and steep sharp corners it felt easier to move around and get my body weight to the spot where I could hit the most traction.

I got 3 bikes with a good amount of overlap I feel like. 1. Specialized P4 w/ 27.5" wheels, gears and a dropper post so I can commute and hit DJ's, pump tracks or street stuff 2. Rocky Mountain E-bike for general trails and all-mountain rides in the back country 3. Transition Spire for Bike Park/DH/Freeride riding

Good question there, I am mainly trying to get more front end grip, more responsive steering and more balance or being more centered in the bike for more turning confidence. I've tested it in the low mode only a few times and in the high mode only a few times so more research is still needed here.

It looks like there is only 0.5 degrees difference in the "low" position - what are you hoping to achieve with the lower setting? Have you tested it on its own yet? I would probably suggest just doing the 1 change and see if you notice the negative traits.Trying to preempt an adjustment with another adjustment is the fastest way to send yourself on a wild goose chase and end up with a kooky riding bike you're never happy with. As others have suggested, the steeper headtube angle will bring about several other geometry changes, all of which could possibly...

Just remember the steeper you go the higher it raises the front end is and that will make a slacker STA, higher BB & stack. That also make a 2 degree angleset have around a 1.5 degree actual change in HTA.

Hi there everybody, I am hoping to get your advice on which angleset to get for my Transition spire. I want to run it in the "low" mode but the freakin head tube angle on this thing is scary slack in that mode so I wanna make it steeper but now the question comes to mind: HOW steep to make...

I would assume some JRs. I don’t know why but it would make sense. They have one elite male and female (assuming Anna is still there) bring in a few JRs. Also Neko gets back on the bike for WCs to fight with Gwin 😂

Finn to FMD? Not sure of the flying south reference. But people want to see him on a different team.

Sick build on that Revel man, I bet that thing shreds bike parks! How are you liking the Shimano/Magura brake setup so far?

I'm liking my Lab austere pack, I know weird name and it only comes in black but it works really well, has a magnetic hose clip for the bladder, comes with a spine protector (which I took out) but it looks and works really similarly to the USWE stuff and this is a small company out of Utah that makes...
