Glad you liked it! I’ve reviewed a handful of bikes over the past year and a half as a contributor you can check out on my profile or by searching my last name on the site if you’d like to see those. I started full time recently so the tall guy reviews will be more of a regular occurrence moving forward. Vital cares about tall people too!

That's cool to hear! I definitely think having raced at a World Cup level adds a lot of legitimacy to your reviews as well. Great to have folks riding at that level reviewing products and actively putting them through their paces. It seems like one of the inherent problems with a lot of bike reviews is that reviewers simply don't have enough time to replicate owning the product for a season or a couple seasons, so its good to know you're going out with the intent to smash, haha!

Since these can be purchased separately have you tried mixing wheels? I personally run carbon up front to hold the line in the gnar and get me where I point it. Alum in the back for some compliance and forgiveness on the hits. 30% off is pretty good to try and win customers back. More companies should do that when releasing new products. MTBing is just too expensive to have buy to “try” something out.

I have not, but I need to find the time to do so! I'd actually like to try the opposite - aluminum in the front for some added compliance to help with traction and then carbon in the rear for stability through turns or g-outs. But now you have me thinking....

A winning setup doesn't last forever...I made the choice that I thought would bring me success for many years to come. Canyon has a bigger commitment to racing and winning and I've always felt I wanted a little extra help to go even faster. I recorded a podcast with Downtime last week so that should be out soon and explain some more.

A fatter pay cheque that has been well earned.

I had GCN+ it was terrible lol glad I'm forced back into that dumpster fire. As for commentating, I thought somewhere it had been discussed it was Needles as the main broadcaster.

So the World Cup is now the World Series, except for the Enduro World Series which is now the Enduro World Cup, but the World Series is just made up of World Cups. Got it. Whenever you read about a stupid branding decision, just remember: somebody got paid real, actual money for this nonsense. Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. FFS.
