4/25/2025 1:34am I over-stroke whenever possible for exactly that reason. It's so stupid! It's literally an identical ride experience to before, except if I fuck something up my bike just absorbs it instead of going clunk. I guess marketing would have something to say and noobs will get confused.

Grovel bike? You'll be govelling with customer support if you ever need a warranty with that brand, HA! Kinda sick actually. Love the drop bar drop post combo. Working on something similar of my own less the suspension fork! I remember my first dropper post (on a 170mm fr/rr NS Soda Air, mind you) was a crotch grab style like that. Always a battle between taking a hand off during a descent to drop the seat after you forgot and just descending with your seat up. Terror indeed.

Thanks! Haha yeah I definitely wouldn't buy a new Commencal. Don't agree with their approach to warranty support at all! They were good to deal with when I approached them about getting info about the frame so I could weld it back up (type of alloy and wall thickness) though. It was just before they'd announced their gravel bike but they showed it to me anyway and we had a good chat about bikes, one of the guys took a photo and sent it to Max Commencal, reckoned he frothed over weird/personalised builds. Seemed like a cool company overall so...

3/7/2025 8:14pm I used that logic for way too long before I finally bought some Dominions and realised I was being really stupid. Never going back to Shimano or Sram brakes. The only downside I've found is holding back the vomit whenever i have to use someone elses brakes.

I think I understand where does this build comes from. Hint: one guy dared to ask me: "Is that a gravel bike?"- (It is a rigid flat bar XC rocket with 2.2" tires and really weird bar-ends). Anyway I REALLY LIKE IT Even the name of the frame model is an irony in itself and those lines: "Sometimes you just want your bike to be a bike, you know? And sometimes you want it to be stupid. 2/26/2025 10:43am I don't often run Manitou, but when I do, the seals and stanchions run noticeably cleaner than forks with the arch at the front. For both mud and dust. Wouldn't surprise me if having more airflow around the seal and lower part of the exposed stanchion is actually a small improvement.

The Session rocker has a pinch bolt to clamp down on the axle in order to provide some more torsional stiffness. The rocker is just 2 separate plates with no bridge in between them. Without the pinch bolt the two plates would likely be able to rotate one against another (and possibly untighten the bolt too). As for the antisquat and antirise changing with changing pivot location, antisquat yes, antirise probably not that much as it's a split pivot.

1/5/2025 10:48pm Given that it was probably SRAM's lawyers that were responsible for 5dev discontinuing the udh mod kit, ordering the biggie kit sooner rather than later is probably a good plan if you think you might want one.

You’re not posting rumours. You’re just gossiping and stirring. Either post something useful and insightful or don’t bother. The “I’ve got a secret but I’m not telling anyone” is just a bit pathetic and more than childish. It’s fine if you can’t say anything, but if that’s the case just be a adult and shush. This thread is clogged up enough as it is. Lets face it, every major player is working on something so we can all post that quite easily!

100% You know what else is not covered like f1...tons of sports. And they are doing fine. For unknown reasons, probably because he claims he invented it, Ball thought enduro needed to be covered like DH. It didn’t. But by saying it, he started looking for a solution to a problem that didn't exist. As a result, beget a problem. You know what us doing just fine, marathon racing. You know what it's not doing, trying to be F1.

It's not like a rim or a carbon frame where you need expensive tooling and a bunch of special sauce on the engineering side of things to get a functional product...
