Mini Mullets?

Anyone have one or done this to an older bike?  If you have one post it up.  About twice a year I really get the itch to build a single speed Calling, 5010, older Scout or something along those lines in a 26” rear/27.5” front.  Ultimately I always ditch the idea when I start adding up costs.  But sometimes it’s worth it to have something really unique and fun even if it’s not super useful.

I have a Commencal Clash I can set up super-mini-mullet (26” front, 24” rear). On the right trails it is super duper fun.

Mini Mullet Hardtail. For the blue trails and Jumptrails a solid choice and wicked fun.

X2. Buckets, did you put shorter cranks on that thing? It looks that way, and I would imagine so.

Also looks like a chainless setup, no? Could make sense to give those pedal-pag things a go if pedaling is not an issue

Yes, they are 155s. I’d have liked to go shorter but budget kept me on Eagle 90.

It is chainless, but I think you need cranks still to be able to offset your feet vertically to some degree when cornering.

It’s one on the principle biomechanical differences between how you corner on a bike and a moto.

Those pedal pegs don’t allow that and thus I think they would not be fun to ride.

I have tried to think of ways you could build ‘pegs’ with some coupled vertical displacement (if one side goes up the other goes down) but I think it get complicated and space limited fast.

I have my 9yr old on a mega mini mullet. Front is 24" and the rear is 20" inch. It's a hardtail with a Manitou kids fork, it looks like an old school freeride hardtail with a Monster T. He dug out an old white Chromag seat from my spares pile and put it on, the proportions of the adult saddle to the small kids bike is again like old school freeride with those massive Tioga seats. I should take some pictures of it.
