Ochain R and t type sram chainrings.

Grabbed myself an OChain R at a pretty good deal but I’m having difficulty finding official sram t type chainrings that fit. The only one they say fits is an xx 104 chainring and no where in the uk seem to have stock of 32t versions.  I have picked up a cheaper chainring from sram in 104bcd, its a t type ebike ring but the chainring tabs are a very tight fit to the centre of the chain and it barely fits on, I’m assuming the centre of the OChain needs slight clearance to rotate? SRAM do say this chain ring isn’t compatible but I’m wondering if a little rub with the grinder is all it needs to clear or am I missing some other reason it’s not compatible? Maybe chain line? Any help much appreciated, I prefer to use sram chainrings as I find they last way longer hence why I’m trying to fit one that fits the OChain.

I use wolftooth 32t chainrings on my ochain equipped bikes... no grinding and no issues.  In my experience, most aluminum chainring wear about the same amount more or less... so it doesn't matter to me which brand as long as the  chain retention is acceptable.

Anyone in the US know where to get Ochains for a discount? I'd love to try one, but still struggling to justify them for $450 plus tax.

They're owned by SRAM now so probably held to the same pricing restrictions as SRAM/RS products... aka only on sale at certain points of the year.  Local shops can still offer a discount to you though, that's how I got mine.

I've had to use the dremel to get 104 BCD rings to fit on my Ochain. There's a very short official list of chainrings that fit Ochain and a much longer list of chainrings you can bodge on there with a dremel.

I say if it looks like it will fit after a quick dremel touch up, it probably will. Go for it.

It's as if I made this happen with my request.

I have three O-chains, and I've successfully used Race Face and Wolftooth rings (with no alterations).

Apparently it’s only compatible with a 32T and up. That’s too bad, I run a 30T because of how steep my climbs can get.

Rumours on NSMB that a 30 might be bodged in...

Either way SRAM only means I'll be looking at Sidekick/ DT DF
