Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
To be fair, his older footage on trail bikes he's always been on Fox forks - could be something there?
I think he just no longer has a sponsorship deal. So he got a stock Mondraker before his deal was up and is riding it. While sponsored he would swap out forks and suspension, now he’s just riding what he’s got.
It looks weird to me to see Vergier and A.Pierron in the same team. But, I spotted a thing about the woman side of Commencal muc-off from "Laric" (aka Scott dh Factory, on Vélovert forum) who always spreads some hints
Never underestimate the friendship of the french. And even more Maxs will to be on top. Amaury may be the top contender when he is healthy, unfortunately he rarely is. Thibaut being on top when he can handel the pressure. Maxbe that’s the point of his seitch to Canyon.
I think it is time for Commencal to once again have an absolut top contender on his own team. And Loris clearly is one of these riders. It would completely make sence.
I am actually wondering if Lapierre has ko interest in comming back to DH?
They had very good years when thwy where present. I guess they sold many bikes when Sam, Loic and Nico were competing on their bikes. Now it became some kind of niche brand wheter before they were one of the very top brands. And ass they capitalized during Covid without having to support a race team this would be a good opportunity to make a comeback.
Is that a Dissent? From Danny’s IG story
From the financial side of things it would make more sense if this isn't the case. Could be the new Norco HP bike. What about Specialized? Could also be the new Demo without cover
*edit: Fox suspension, so most likely no specialized
Angel on Fox suspension, testing the real rate of the springs for the shock at Gshox workshop.
Could just be a borrowed ride off brayton for now while he’s still trying to sort something?
those two ride a lot together in the off season and brayton often has the orange forks
And Neko is on a plane to go ride with him.
I don't think they would. They don't aim at this kind of target from a sales perspective, and I'm pretty sure their Enduro teams allow them to test new concepts for their mtb & emtb markets. And moreover, I read that the accel group finances had been downgraded lately (here), partially due to overstock issues. Given that financial incertaincy and the context of global mtb racing I'd say that adding another team to their lineup would be unlikely.
wow, this is gettin out of hand IMO… reminds me of „the decision“ by lebron james
yep LapierreMavic Unity is only one season old and an enduro prototype has been spyed this summer! Dailly, Rogge, Bertini and Marry ever looks free to ride DH races With the bike they want
There was talk last season of a second French female rider joining Muc-Off, so you never know.
So It will be a Lisa anyway hahaha
Not really racing, but bike rumors indeed, apparently the Canyon cuts run deep, incl. Fabio Wibmer!?
Scott is running a second tier "Academy Team" out of their factory teams pits. Australian junior female rider Sacha Mills confirmed it with I imagine another two riders on the team.
Lapierre's parent company isn't exactly in good shape right now. I'm actually surprised (and quite relieved) that they haven't let go of all their mtb teams yet.
Maybe a YT Tues?
The Tues is an old bike Maybe the chance of YT to get a Rider with Long experience for the new one.
In my opinion, such an action would be absolutely... Forbidden.
Yeah it's a Dissent but with all his regular parts on it, so he's basically just done a frame swap. Not sure if it's because he's signed for Nukeproof, or just testing out the Dissent though, as he could be shopping around for a sponsor or as a privateer wanting to simply buy a frame. I wouldn't be surprised if he got it via Adam Brayton too given that they are good mates and probably ride the same size frame
why not just keep riding his Cube?
This is not surprising, they seem to have lost the big customer base they had in the UK about a decade ago, as you used to see loads of Zestys and Spicys at trail centres but I haven't seen a single Lapierre in years. Their last downhill bike also got a pretty bad review from Dirt at the time, so they're probably not too keen on getting back into the world of downhill bikes as they'd have much more catching up to do. They are prototyping something that looks to have around 180mm travel though that was posted in the tech rumours thread a while back, so who knows. It would be cool to see them do well outside of France again at least, given how stacked their team(s) to be
still has G5 canyon housebrand handlebars on, maybe a new canyon bike or just a new fancy paintjob.
He's not going to be riding it this season so there's no reason to ride it now when he could be getting more comfortable on what he might/will be riding this season instead
Why would he? He's no longer being paid by said company so why would he promote them for free, especially someone of Danny's status / follower count
Just a thought, one of these is a development team and I can think of one brand that's worked with Intense in the past that has a great track record of supporting youth, TLD.
Can't he technically go for the Rainbow stripes due that weird rule where anyone can enter
Would you ride a cube if you weren't getting paid to ride it?
Maybe he sold it to help fund his trip. A nicely specced DH bike would probably get you 2 or 3 nights accommodation in Queenstown, provided you don't go too upmarket.
