FYI, he may not be a household name internationally but a US racer was injured on that final lip badly too. Thoughts going out to Max Morgan.

He would have a better point if he didn't end up with a time similar to the jr. women. You can ride ANY wc dh track on a hardtail, the question is how fast...

Not on the hardtail. That run was a 4:08 run, I checked which was slower than any single riders qualifying run by a large margin. He was just having a good time.

Oh cool. What an opportunity he has to be able to race a UCI DH schedule! I hope he is having fun in Austria testing his times against the fastest guys in the world and isn't too bummed out about the track.

I am at this World Cup, and most others. Phil is not the only rider of the opinion, maybe the only one with the balls too tell the world. I watched Remi Thirion over the finish line yesterday with chills up my spine, and tears in my eyes.
The frustration that Phil and others have is the course is super high speed, not technical, and with huge EXTREMELY LIPPY jumps. Amplified by sidewind gusts. The consequences here are high.. Fun track to have fun on,, not so fun to race..

Wait, so his complaints with the track are that it is too high speed (I'd imagine WC tracks can get like that sometimes) and the jumps are too lippy? Ahh, now I understand the point he was trying to make by using his hard tail...
