Do you have to drive a lot to get to your local trails? I have one really short trail I can ride to from home, but the good stuff is between 30mins and an hour away by car for me.

How far do you drive (if at all) for your regular rides?

I'm pretty spoiled, being a half hour from Park City, and about 15 minutes from lots of other rad trails/trail centers.

My local forest with like 5 trails is only a couple of minutes ride away. By trails I mean 20 second descents as I live in the UK, to get anywhere good I'll either travel about an hour north or south occasionally but it's hard when I work most weekends

During the week, i can usually get to the local trails within 15-30 minutes. It used to be right out the door, but the city bulldozed an entire trail network for dog walkers (in a multi use park :/)

Every weekend usually involves a 6+ hour drive to get to the primo BC tracks. Fridays suck, and Mondays are the worst... but Saturday is pure bliss.

5 miles from 180 miles of XC trails. 25 miles from more DH/Enduro oriented trails

It's all a drive for me. 20 minutes to good stuff in Laguna. 30 minutes to San Juan. The dream is pedal from the house one day to good dirt, but the dreaming slipping away...

45 mins to Santa Cruz, 7 mins to Carlmont, 20 mins to Skeggs. Prefer Santa Cruz, so up and over 17 every weekend. Worth it. Spring/summer weekday rides post work are great at Skeggs.

I *could* pedal to a couple of riding areas without too much trouble, but I live on the top of a hill without any trails on it so that just adds a road climb to the end of any pedal-out ride. The good spots are anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour away in the car.

Got some fun flow and flow jump trails that are a pedal from the house, which is great when I have an hour or so for a ride. Anything longer and I'll hop in the car for 10-30 minutes to access better trails

I've got an idea for the next forum question, how much of each discipline do you ride? E.g DH, Trail, XC, BMX, Road, CX, Trials

within 30 mins I can prob access 5 or 6 xc networks in different areas with different features and flavor
double that timed drive and probably double the zone count. now only if it wasn't winter 6months of the year

I drive for 30-40 minutes to get to the trails. I used to just go a few blocks to ride, but since moving I am farther away than I like to be from any trails. Sigh...Hopefully I can change that in a few years!

Man... it used to be 30-min for DH, now it's about 40-45 to the closest spot and solo missions are no longer an option as they're not really HAB-able.

For trail, 30-min to the okay stuff, 45 to an hour for the goods.

I need to move.

I made sure to buy a house where lots of good rides are just a pedal away

I get out of my apartment, jump on my bike, ride about 10min and I'm at the first of many big trails in the area.
If I'm too lazy the closest trail is about 400m from my house, but it's only about a minute long.

For a normal dh I drive 1600km from Moscow to mountains. For all other type of rides it is close neighbourhood from 5mins to 30mins drive

I've just built my trails on the closest hill so yeah... Now we are building new trails on a bit higher hill which requires 20 mins of pedaling, next proper set of trails is like 30 min drive away and first bike park is a bit less than an hour away. Not bad!

Now it's 35 minutes to my usual trails (Hunter's Creek, NY), 85 minutes to a small lift access hill near me (Swain, NY).

I grew up 10 minutes from the Finger Lakes Trail in Letchworth State Park, NY... that was pretty awesome, now it's 75 minutes away.

When I lived in Austin, TX, I was a 2 minute bike ride from the Green Belt, with tons of other riding being within 1 hour. Not so much DH down there, though, which I missed.

So all in all, I've averaged probably about a half hour for all my life's riding.

With a two mile road ride I can access an overgrown fire tower road that climbs the mountain to trails. It's not a bad spot to ride. The trail system we've been developing is about 25 minutes away. Better trails are 45 minutes away. Two hours puts me in Pisgah.

I live in Helena, MT and I can leave my garage on my bike and be at a trailhead in 5 minutes that provides access to 75 miles of singletrack. There are number of other options within a half hour or so drive as well. I don't generally drive to go for a ride though.

I'm super jelly of you. Jerk... with your close, expansive trails.

A former EWS course starts less than a block from my house. Driving to trails is the exception rather than the rule
