Who says they will be an elite team next year? He doesn't have to be, one of the biggest and best known teams wasn't an elite team last year.

i'm not sure 'elite' and 'trade' are interchangeable. SC wasn't given trade team status but they were still in the elite category. someone with more knowledge can probably answer for sure.

SC only had the 'trade' team status due to them not all wearing the same kit as they all have different clothing sponsors.

We have lots of first and second-hand industry information and hear a lot of the rumors you all do. Some we know to be true, some we know to be false. Unfortunately for the gossip mill, we do our best to only publish confirmed news. There have been no official press releases, tweets, instagrams or FB posts about Gwin's 2016 sponsor status, so until that happens, we'll keep guessing with all of you.

I think this will maybe end in two ways... or people will get really dissapointed when gwin is not on YT or it will be lackluster with all this "official" news...

But maybe is there a chance of him riding for Cube or Norco? I saw some vids on his ig of him with the norco riders.

If Gwin isn't going to be on YT this year, I say the next best bet is Norco. Earlier in the thread, it was hinted on an Instagram photo that Gwin's mechanic, John Hall will be going to Norco. It would only make sense if he was still the mechanic for Aaron for the upcoming season.

While the Norco and new Cube both 'look like a session'....

Greg Williamson's instagram shot ( YT Tues ) combined with Gwin's Alpinestars posts point to a new M. Whiteley team on YT bikes. Whiteley also has strong ties to VW/Audi.

While I think it's a real possiblity Gwin is riding for Whiteley or YT. Greg's results weren't that great this year so what if he is sponsor less and just riding a YT. I mean there was a BOS fork on the bike in the picture. Or Greg is fueling the rumor mill, showing someone else's bike and Whiteley's team is not on YT.

its not norco!! his trainer todd runs the norco factory team. how many times has this come up now? lots of bikes look like sessions, kona, giant, radon, etc.

I never mentioned anything on how the Norco Aurum looks like a session. It was just a second guess under YT based on the things I have seen on social media. The only thing that throws off Norco as a possibility is the Alpinestars kit Gwin is now running. I also never said YT isn't a possibility.

Maybe Gwins whole plan for the year is to charge companies to allow rumors to be spread that he may sign for them, so they can enjoy the rapid rise in marketing. Maybe he won't be riding at all this year, just making that internet marketing money from the bidding rumors war after he watched a few of those Youtube sidebar videos that detail how to become an internet millionaire.

Before too long he will be making ads of his own telling us about he reads one book a day, and is more proud of his knowledge than he is of his Ferrari.

Seems on point with some of the speculation in this thread.
