Can't speak to this frame or photo, but I do know that they're testing some mullet links (and/or rear triangles) with their local guys in CO on their SB160s

Looks like an all new sb165 mullet to me. The area where the shock mounts to the downtube looks different to the sb160 and there isn’t the big yeti branding on the downtube. So not just a 160 with a new link. I think this is the same bike Richie was spotted on earlier on this page of the thread...

I really liked the Strive platform, the suspension really impressed me and I think the shapeshifter is cool for big days on the bike. BUT, having raced in Tasmania before I felt like the Spectral would be better suited for those rounds with it being more nimble, for me. With the long break after the first block I think I'll have plenty of time to get used to the Strive for the Euro rounds.

Hello from Mr. Offtopic. DOT 5 is dead in the water, apparently ABS systems could cause aeration and thus made it unusable in cars (as per wiki). That's why DOT 5.1 was made as it has the temperature ratings of DOT5 while still being ethylene-glycol based. The video is still up, brake fluid part starts at 3:25: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF2vAOmplUI As for why DOT, as has been mentioned, DOT 5.1 is DOT 5.1. The DOT in the name stands for Department Of Transportation, meaning it's tightly regulated. That's why DOT fluids from different manufacturers can be mixed and matched. So you can...

Would that rumor involve a certain Commencal rider looking for a more supportive structure?

I will say, of the dozen or so Yetis I’ve worked on (it’s a small sample size for sure, they seem to prefer the dealer) 10 have required full slider replacement, to the tune of $400ish bucks if I remember. That was over the span of a couple years, but none of the bikes were more than 2 years old. All the caveats apply, Where, how often, is any maintenance done, etc. I find most Horst link, faux bar bikes are good for 2-4 before they need bearings swapped, full kit for a Sentinel, $130Can last time I ordered
