I finally got to Spider MTN and holy crap that place is fun! The builders are wanting to get rowdy, and I'm all for it. I spent the majority of the day with my 10 year old, hitting the blue lines. I did get some time on Sleep Tight and Sticky Icky, which are technical wonders of trail that I...

woodybepierced Started a new thread Spring Break Trip to Bentonville

Our Spring Break trip to Bentonville, Arkansas was a heck of an awesome trip! We brought the entire family to ride the mountain bike trails, visit downtown Bentonville, experience Eureka Springs, hit the pump tracks and shred the recently revamped Railyard Bike Park. I'm hoping to get Liam back to the Bentonville area this summer. We also have Spider...

The Why I Ride project draws inspiration from our love of all things two-wheel related. Our goal is to share the stories and infinitely relatable reasons why others love to ride as much as we do. We all ride for different reasons, and we want to collect those stories and share them with the world. We want riders worldwide to see we are one big connected family, whether it’s track or trail, motorized or non-motorized. Why I Ride is a way for us to bench race on a global scale, help bring riders together, and stoke the fires that keep...

My kids are too old to have taken advantage of powered balance bikes, but I did get my son a Strider when he was little. I definitely recommend something of the sort, as training wheels on a bicycle are bad. (Bad-ish. Let's face it; most of us started on training wheels, and we turned out OK.) Here are some of the positives and negatives I saw with a Strider. Positive: -My kid never needed training wheels. -Within weeks, he was gliding around, feet up, no problems. -It made learning to ride a motorcycle very easy. Negative: -It took a long...

woodybepierced Added a new video Purgatory Bike Park | 2020 Summer Trip

7/13/2020 6:42am
I rode my Mondraker Factor the entire day, 120mm of travel, while we rented Liam a 24” Rocky Mountain Reaper. I could have used more travel and a bit more relaxed geometry, but I still had a blast. Liam took to the Reaper really well, though it was a tad big for him. I don’t think you need a full on downhill rig for two days at Purgatory, 6”-7” of travel with some enduro geometry would give you all you need. Divinity Flow Trail was fun, but not what I want to ride all day. I want the more technical...

woodybepierced Started a new thread Shredding Purgatory Bike Park Ferda Girls

Finished up the video from a few weeks ago at PURG. Posted to Vital 2 days at PURG would be fun. I'd rather have a bike with a bit more travel, but the Mondraker Factor was still hella fun. Wish I could have stayed for the Party at the Purg race, but it was already sold out.

The full review is added to the product, but here's the gist. The Good: - Stealth Rubber works as expected - Sleek and clean look - Very Comfortable The Bad: - Needs a stiffer Sole - Poor ventilation - Sweat soaks into the body of the shoe https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Flat-Pedal-Shoes,60/Five-Ten/Sle… Read the full review and please pass along some thoughts on...

woodybepierced Started a new thread PNW Range Handlebar Setup

6/18/2020 11:47am
Grabbed the PNW Range Handlebar for the 10 degree backsweep and extra rise. Digging those features now that I've ridden it a few times. I had a setup question though. Has anyone else had trouble lining up dead center and correct roll on the bars? The logo is centered for sure, but without any tick marks for center/center, I kept...

With SRAM releasing the 52 tooth cog if you were not already wondering how far it will go you should be now. As the range of 1x's have increased so has the jumps from one cog to another as well as a number of other issues. Will we get to the point we just run a gear on the outside edge of the rim? I see the return of 2x systems. I believe it has been attempted in the past where the front/chain ring shifting is automatic. I could see SRAM with there AXS system having a single controller controlling...
