Fox sells a 160mm spring. I went from 150mm to 160mm for a few months and now rocking a 170mm spring. It’s pretty sweet to have a 41lb 160mm rear 170mm front bike with 63.8degree HT.

TLDR: STOKED New Rise M10 owner here. I have held out on heavy Ebikes beacuse couldn't get my head around how different of an experience they would be to just mountain biking. So when are you going to Mullet the Rise to 160/160 travel? It just takes a 8.5x2.5” (216x63) shock with 1 offset bushing in place of the 210x55 and a $50 160mm air spring

In the static position in the picture you are correct. However, when you sit on the bike and the fork is sagged, it feels no different than it does when the fork was at 170mm because I am using a slightly softer spring. In terms of the 28T, is it better if I get Eagle and change the chainring to 30T? I like the 1x11 because the deraillier is shorter than the eagle and doesn't stick out as much so I don't have problems damaging it or bending the hanger. Also it's lighter than Eagle.

Spesh has sent me aluminum links as they are currently out of stock on carbon links, and they are sending me a new frame as mine is scratched from the incident. So I have been riding my bike while I wait for a new frame and carbon links. I’m expecting a call from an engineer at specialized to talk about what happened, and they are quite interested in investigating. As far as I know I am the only person this has happened to. At least the warranty process has been very good so far.

150lb or 160 geared up. It’s what Vorsprung suggests for my weight and fork travel. It seems to be ok (20% sag). Gotta put more ride time on the bike.

If you don’t want to read all the way to the bottom, I’m going to put a short summary below. Be warned I cracked the fancy carbon links that come on the S-Works model only. Fluke? Suspension tuning problem? Maybe my super enduro smashing powers? Not sure, but it was the same run I cracked a Reserve Carbon wheel on last week. It lightly touches the shifter cable at full bottom out (with no spring installed). It would have to pierce through the shifter cable (another 8-10mm) before it would contact the frame. This would only be possible if you removed the bottom out bumper. Doing so would allow the shock to reach full stroke (60mm). With the 10mm bottom out bumper in place, a very hard bottom out would compress it 5mm or so so you are effectively only using 55mm of stroke. I have had probably over 150 bottom out occasions over the last 11 months and it will not...
